Orangutan has not only lack of basic 101 customer service but also buys cheap AC capacitors made in China (you can buy it $10 from Amazon) and charge over $350 for capacitor replacement. Worst part, they don’t give warranty unlike other companies who give 1 year warranty. My capacitor blew out less than a year. Especially answering service staff, Sherry gave me a conflicting information. Tried to file a complaint but manager, Kim did not call back for 2 days. They don’t bother to intervene and have been ignorant. NOT worth to use Orangutan

Service tech Ricky was super quick and very neat and clean while working in a mess!! It was done quickly and he was very informing throughout the process. It was very reasonable for all the work done and on a late Sunday evening.. Great company !! And Great service!! :)

According to the plumber I actually did not need a Pressure Reducing Valve installed ( I was quoted a few months back). I asked his twin brother who worked for the company as well to give me estimates of jobs that I would need to get done in the future and this was the only thing that he sent. Now his brother (Ricky Nevins) does the job on the estimate, but when he saw my pipes he realized that there was some thing else that might have been the cause of the small leak. Instead of stopping the work and let me know about it, he decides to complete the job that won't fix the problem and tell me after. His excuse was that he came to do a specific job and he did it so he can't be liable for anything else that happens. Then when he realizes that it was his twin brother that did the inspection he begins to tell me that there was no way to see the extent of the damage until it was dug up, but he would not explain to me why he didn't show me how severe the PVC piping was before he installed the Pressure reducing valve. I found this to be terrible way to go about their business and I have been waiting to hear back from their manager who seems to still be on vacation after 3 weeks of this incident. Very unsatisfied with how I am being treated currently

DO NOT do business with this company. Maintenance contract was not honored on existing ac/heater. Instead, they sent a salesman who told us the existing unit originally installed by them was too expensive to repair & must be replaced , even though still under maintenance contract. We later determined that we paid approx $3000. to much for new unit. When we called to say that the new unit is causing leaks on the roof, the representative argued that it wasn’t his problem, and that it was too far for him to come back.

They did a very nice job. I thought their quality was good. It works. They were very responsive. They were very much on time. I don't remember having any issues with them. My wife said the fact that she can't remember means that they didn't suck.

I have a contract with Orangutan and I’m so disgusted with them, it’s ridiculous. I’ve been with them for years and was satisfied, but they came out this past Dec. and told me my heat pump needed replacing. Because of our previous relationship, I thought I could trust them. Well, needless to say, they’ve been a real let down. I’ve had them out five times in the past 2 1/2 months…four times in the past three weeks. My heat pump was kicking on heat instead of cooling and their techs all said it was the thermostat, but I had a brand-new Nest they’d installed in Dec. with the heat pump. Anyway, they told me a lot of gobbledygook about it and reset it and it happened again. Then again, so they pulled out the thermostat and put in a Honeywell, swearing that that would fix the problem. Since the Honeywell came in, they’ve been out twice more and it’s still kicking on and blowing hot air any darn time it pleases. I’m absolutely disgusted with Orangutan and would only refer my worst enemies to them.
Description of Work: New heat pump will push out cold air for a while, then stops are desired temp. When it kicks on again, it blows out HOT air. This has been going on for quite a while.

We asked the company to give us an estimate for a replacement HVAC unit. They are the only representatives for Bosch here in Arizona. Jason came out to give us an estimate. He was caught by surprise when they had given us an estimate by email, and he had to notch down his estimate by about $200. He worked on upselling by wanting to add Aeroseal into the bid. But that's okay, I understand that. The verbal bid itself was very competitive. HOWEVER... Jason said he would email me that very competitive bid, and he confirmed my email while sitting in front of me. Never got it. I emailed him from my email to his email on his business card, confirming that he would send the bid. Never confirmed my email. Never sent the bid. We were called by Orangutan to confirm my email. Since I had already sent my email, I did not return that call. I figured that if they are professional enough, they should be looking at their email. Nope. Never received the bid. Never received a follow-up phone call to see if we would act on the bid. And after all my research on this site, BBB, and Yelp, I think the grand majority of the sentiment is that they do not have customer service as a priority. So we will not be using Orangutan for this project or services.

They are a local company here for home maintenance. I have used them for about 15 years. They are a pretty big operation. I have a maintenance contract with them. One of the guys that came to do my semi-annual check up managed to slip and put his foot through the top of my ceiling, so that took several days and a whole bunch of time to repair that. I wasn't real happy about that. Other than that, I would grade them very highly. They fixed everything at their expense. It was just a nuisance.

All Maintenance items seemed to be checked except for "airflow and temperature performance, refrigerant cycling, pressures, and condition.". No airflow or pressures were checked. Technician said one unit needed to be replaced ($7500) and $810 of repairs were needed. I refused all work and unit replacement. Both of my units were functioning and I wanted to double check his recommendations. After he departed I received another quote for $5355 for water treatment system. After checking the three items he recommended I found only one to be true, I replaced the part myself for less than $20 and 10 minutes work (quoted price was $295). One item noted as bad was a blower alternator. I'm quite sure heat pumps don't have alternators. I feel Orangutan maintenance people are actually sales people with some light technical training. I would recommend getting a second opinion on any repairs or installations by Orangutan.

The semi-annual maintenance visit was treated well, and I was satisfied.
Description of Work: Trevor and Dakota arrived at my home when promised. They did a thorough inspection of my 2-systems. Trevor recommended a few repairs to my main unit, with which I comported. Both Dakota and Trevor completed the repairs promptly to ensure my unit functioned better. I was charged a fair price for the work and the parts. I was quite pleased with how both men treated me and their professionalism.

Canceled twice after I had waited for them for four hours each time, did not give me a copy of the work order, when I had them e-mail the W.O. they did not perform half of the items that they listed as being done. Rep stunk of cigarette smoke. DO NOT HIRE!!!.

The techs that come out are very professional when they get here. I wouldn't, I would not recommend them. I've had a contract with them since 1998 okay and because of all their screw ups, they themselves have extended my contract up to 2025 because they just can't seem to get it together. When I call and make an appointment the appointment isn't met. Actually I ended up having to call them to find out okay when is the guy gonna get here and they'll tell me oh he can't make it after all. They're very very bad at follow up. I've even talked to the general manager, both of them they had one and then they had another and they promised me that all of these things will be fixed and they weren't. They left me without air conditioning for five days in the summer.

Excellent, our service technician Zeb Spencer was knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem. The A/C unit was less than two years old and needed major repair. Orangutan agreed to service the unit under warranty and the repairs were done the same day. We have been customers for many years and would highly recommend their service.

My experience was terrible. It was a contract that we paid about $2,000 for the life of the air conditioning system that we have so we are tied in to them for another 10 years. We hired another company to come and check on the work they had done and they said that they did not do anything when they came out.

I would NEVER recommend this company for service. The salesman was awesome, sold me the unit, told me everything would go smoothly and quickly. (The salesman was here Monday) Total time he said we would be without air was 4-5 hours. Total install actually took 7 hours. The tech who was on the roof was quick and efficient, but I heard him cussing while he was in the attic. The other tech, fell through the ceiling in 2 places, accidents happen, but I ended up taking time off work to clean up his mess. The 2nd tech said he would notify the office to have the drywall repair made the next day. After 7 hours of no air, they were ready to turn it on, I asked that they cover the hole in the ceiling before turning the air on so we wouldn't have insulation falling into the living room again, the first tech argued with me that it wouldn't fall out if the air was on. AC was installed Tuesday. Wednesday came and there was no call about the drywall repair. My husband called and spoke to the project manager who had no idea we had an issue the day before. He sent drywall tech out for the repair, but we had to paint the fix. Friday they were scheduled to come back out to correct the condensation line and air return grate. They were 45 minutes late (after the 2 hour window given). There was no call from the company or tech to say they were running behind. 2 weeks later "Quality Control" called to set up an inspection. I told the rep that I was unhappy with the service and he advised to speak to the rep that came out. The salesman came back to do the quality check. We advised him of all the issues with the install, he said he would speak to the CEO the next morning and get back with us later that day. I let a week go by before I called him. He stated he spoke to the CEO, and he was supposed to call us, he never did. Here we are 3 weeks later waiting for insulation to be installed, our window was 2-6 pm, the rep called at 7:20 pm to say he was 30 minutes out. The salesman stated they would insulate the attic to try to make our experience better, but the tech stated they were only told to insulate the area that the AC tech fell through. Overall experience with Orangutan: horrible. I will never refer anyone to this company, and will never call them back to service our unit. They are a joke company who do not have ANY customer service. Pass by quickly.

in Nov.2015 company installed hot water recirculating pump and set it to be running 24/7. I was not informed of that fact nor was I instructed on operation. There was no booklet. I was not aware that I could set the times I wanted it to run.? When I noticed that my electric bill were going up by 33% - 38% from previous year I discovered the problem. I contacted company and asked them for refund on increase. they refused. In April 2016 company sent tech to service units as part of package I paid for. Tech kept telling me that I needed ?anew this or that ?Told me that I needed 2 new metal filters at a cost of $95 each. I called another company for a quote on the filters. It was $25 each. I called competitor to check system when 1 of the units would not go on. I was told that a wire was left unconnected and that was reason for problem . He said that any tech that looked at this unit would have to see the problem unless he disconnected it. I was charged $145 for call. Since Orangutan was last company service unit I asked them to pay $145 charge. They refused.

I have a service contract with Orangutan which is the only reason I have any contact with them. I can honestly say that at least 5 times they did not show up for a scheduled service appt. nor did they give a call to cancel. This behavior is the pattern they are consist with. I'm not fond of saying this, but the truth is they have lied repeatedly over and over again. You want to trust and believe, but the facts are the facts. Orangutan is disgraceful, lacks any integrity, and are the most unprofessional. A couple of years ago one of their own employees told they lied to me. Clearly she was the only one with a conscience. She no longer works there. If you read the reviews, you can see a pattern. In business you have a choice to provide service to the best of your ability, and while some customers can be difficult, but this is not case nor the norm with Orangutan. They dupe, misled, and deceive the customers. If you choose Orangutan for you air or heating needs rest assure you will be scammed. Norma hung up on me, very professional, because I called her out on her lies. I left a message for the manager and my call was never be returned. Curious, they always manage to have your phone number for their cold calls, but never have I received a call for their no shows on appointments. Orangutan has a complete disregard for their customers, and clearly only have growth to stay in business by tricking new unsuspecting customers. As a consumer I do expect basic common courtesy, truthfulness and a willingness to take responsibility for failures or shortcoming. You won't find any of these qualities at Orangutan. Many reviews on the internet have a message for you, as do I. Do your research throughly. "Don't walk, RUN"!

They were a little pricey. They were expensive most of the time, it seems as if they always found something whether you had problems with it or not. For the AC and heater they always came out right away. They did good work and always showed up on time that's why I stayed with them for as long as I did. Their workers were friendly and they never made a mess. They should lower the price on parts.

The gas co. tech tightened one screw that stopped the small leak. He said we do not need a new valve, and the service man from Orangutan probably loosened the screw to create the leak. They new there was little chance of danger, and that was why they didn't respond to follow up on servicing . We wrote to them on 12/18/15 to get our $700 back and a prorated refund on the three years remaining on our $1260 service contract, and they have refused to pay. We explained that we felt their shoddy work was nothing more than a scam, and we could no longer trust them. A refund was certainly in order.
Description of Work: Charged us $700.00 for a $200,00 and something gas valve, then wouldn't come to install it. After we made several calls to get service, their tech showed up with the wrong part. We had our local gas company check the danger level of our home.
