"Dimas and his crew always do an excellent job. In addition to maintaining my lawn, they’ve helped with laying mulch and repairing my fence. They’re easy to work with, reliable, and their pricing is fair. I highly recommend them."

"I had Mr Clyde come look at holes a woodpecker pecked into side of house. He patched those up for us and hung up these silvery reflectors for me. The price was agreeable and he did an excellent job. The woodpecker did come back and I got another hole. He did what we asked for and I'm grateful he came out when he did."

"My husband and I were more than satisfied with our fence built by The Craftsmen. Cullen is a wonderful guy with a friendly and professional attitude. He communicated thoroughly throughout the process from design, quote to build. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to use The Craftsmen and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

"He did an awesome job. Took down the old deck and replaced all new boards on top. He only had to replace a couple underneath the deck. I would hire him again and would recommend him to anybody. He is reasonable with his pricing."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

You can only change your neighbor's fence with their permission. A neighbor's fence is their property, and altering it without their consent could constitute trespassing or property damage, which may have legal consequences. If you have concerns or disagreements about your neighbor's fence, communicate with them openly and try to reach a mutually agreeable solution. If you believe the fence violates local zoning laws or property regulations, consult with local authorities or seek legal advice to address the issue through proper channels.

Yes, installing a picket fence is a manageable DIY project for homeowners with basic tools and some patience. The process involves marking the fence line, digging post holes, setting the posts, and attaching horizontal rails and pickets. However, precision is key to ensure the fence is straight and sturdy, which can be challenging for beginners. If the fence line is long, the ground is uneven, or you’re working with more complex materials like metal or composite, hiring a pro may be a better option.

There is no best color for a vinyl fence, as it truly depends on a homeowner’s aesthetic preference. Classic white is the most popular and widely available of all the vinyl fence colors. However, contemporary black, warm browns, and natural grays are becoming more mainstream. One perk of darker-colored fences is that they are easier to “keep clean,” as in, dirt and debris don’t show up as easily as they would on lighter-colored fences. So if you don’t plan to give your fence regular washings, a dark color like black, gray, or brown would be the best choice.

Check for gaps or weak spots where your dog could escape and seal them. Remove toxic plants, chemicals, and potentially hazardous items. The list includes cocoa bean mulch, which is harmful to pups if ingested.

It's also essential to provide shade and fresh water. You may want to consider installing a dog-friendly surface on concrete areas like artificial turf. Additionally, regularly inspect for potential hazards, such as sharp objects or broken glass. Most importantly, supervise your dog during outdoor time to ensure their safety.

No, fence posts aren’t always set in concrete. If you don’t want to use concrete footings for your posts, expanding foam is a popular alternative. Expanding foam and concrete each have certain pros and cons. For instance, foam is easier to install and more sustainable, but concrete is sturdier and less expensive.
