"They were excellent. They quickly made a draft that only needed 3 minor adjustments. The final product was exactly what I needed. They referred me to a structural engineer for review. The whole process took half of the time that they initially estimated. I would definitely use them again."

"I was really under the gun due to a prior Architectural firm not performing their duties per building plan codes. Not only were the plans incomplete but the City Plan Reviewer states(The Worst plans he’s ever seen) they will not make adjustments unless there is an additional charge for Thousands. Evaluation’s saved my clients and drew our project per code, along with Engineering in less time then they quoted. I highly recommended them, Especially Kirsten. You went above and beyond trying to coordinate this project. The staff was very professional and I will use them on all my projects. Sincerely, Frank B BCM Builders"

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

In Mountain Home, signs like widening wall cracks, sloping floors, or doors and windows that suddenly stick can indicate foundation movement, often caused by shifting clay soils or underground limestone. If you notice increased humidity indoors, wood rot, or damage after storms, your home may benefit from a structural engineering assessment. Homes built before modern codes, especially those from the 1960s-1980s, are particularly worth evaluating.

Helpful?

Yes, structural upgrades such as foundation repair or storm-resistant improvements are highly valued in Mountain Home, especially for vacation or lakefront properties. Buyers look for homes with reliable moisture control and minimal maintenance needs. These improvements can enhance insurability, help maintain or boost property value, and make your home more attractive to retirees and second-home buyers in the local market.

Helpful?

In Mountain Home, successful structural engineering depends on thorough soil evaluation, especially regarding clay expansion and limestone features. Using moisture-resistant materials, such as treated lumber and galvanized fasteners, is crucial. Effective humidity management and storm preparation further extend the life of repairs. Projects should always meet AR building standards, with experienced local professionals ensuring quality workmanship and ongoing inspections for lasting results.

Helpful?

In Mountain Home, foundations—especially pier and beam or slab types—are most prone to issues from shifting soils and moisture. Roof framing, older decks, and support beams can also deteriorate due to humidity and seasonal weather swings. Homes near Bull Shoals Lake often face added moisture, making crawl spaces and basements more susceptible to structural concerns that benefit from professional evaluation.

Helpful?

Combining structural engineering work with upgrades like drainage improvements, waterproofing, or insulation in Mountain Home can streamline your project and minimize disruption. For example, addressing foundation repairs alongside moisture control or reinforcing beams while upgrading attic insulation can tackle multiple issues efficiently. Coordinating projects is especially practical here, where contractor availability and optimal weather windows can impact overall timelines.
