"This is our third major experience with Charles Wyles and his son, Joel. My wife and I cannot praise them too highly. We have had problems with follow through using local contractors in this rural part of Montana. Charles and Joel always showed up on time and ready to work hard and finish the job on time. They are highly skilled at every aspect of remodeling. We gave them a major challenge in nearly rebuilding and, certainly, saving a 75 year-old log cabin. They did everything from rebuilding the damaged central beam that was holding the roof up to re-roofing most of the cabin. We were so pleased with the quality of their work that we asked them to return to finish the foundation after the prior contractor abandoned us for more lucrative projects. The third project was the largest and most challenging. They built us custom kitchen cabinets exactly as my wife designed them with additional improvements they suggested. They finished the kitchen by tiling the countertops and backsplashes and installing a new sink. All of The work was absolutely top notch with excellent communication along the way. The project also included installing new floors in four rooms and setting a new toilet. No subcontractors involved because these two gentlemen can do it all. All of our project came in on budget with the estimates we initially agreed upon. I wish I could submit before and after photos. Speaking of gentlemen- Charles and Joel are originally from Arkansas. They are true southern gentlemen- polite, respectful and conscientious. On two of the projects, they stayed in the cabin because their home in Stevensville, Montana is an hour and a half away from our home. They had dinner with us each night and we eventually had most of their large family come up to visit. They almost feel like family now. By the way, they left the cabin immaculate and even picked up debris from the former foundation contractor. In addition to this, they are licensed, insured and bonded. You don’t always find this in rural Montana. It adds extra peace of mind."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

For safer pest control in Jacksonville, use integrated pest management by prioritizing non-chemical solutions like sealing cracks and using food-safe deterrents in kitchens. Place natural powders in wall voids or under appliances, and install door sweeps to limit pest entry. Apply treatments when children and pets are outdoors, and always store products securely away from living spaces to prevent accidental exposure in AR’s variable climate.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, start spring by inspecting crawl spaces and baseboards for termite mud tubes and checking for ant trails near kitchens. Transition into summer by cleaning gutters, removing yard debris, and inspecting shaded areas for mosquito larvae. As fall arrives, seal foundation cracks and attic vents to block rodents. Winter is ideal for checking basements for moisture and planning preventative treatments for the coming spring.

Helpful?

Jacksonville homes with slab foundations often conceal termite activity, while pier-and-beam homes may have more rodent entry points. Limited attic or crawl space access can hinder inspections. Poor drainage and high humidity in AR increase pest risks. If your home has attached garages, dense landscaping, or frequent moisture issues, these features can complicate pest control and may require a professional’s assessment.

Helpful?

For pest control in Jacksonville, keep a high-powered flashlight for dark corners, a moisture meter for detecting leaks, and a telescoping mirror for hard-to-see areas. Use a pump sprayer and caulk gun for treatments and sealing gaps. Stock ant baits, mosquito dunks, rodent stations, and weather stripping. Sticky traps and a notebook help track pest activity and seasonal changes unique to Jacksonville homes.

Helpful?

Common mistakes in Jacksonville include skipping seasonal inspections, applying treatments before rain, and misidentifying pests like termites or carpenter ants. Overusing chemicals without addressing moisture or entry points reduces effectiveness. Many homeowners neglect to remove standing water or leaf piles, which attract mosquitoes and rodents. Failing to seal foundation gaps or ignoring recurring pest signs can lead to persistent infestations throughout the year.
