"I had several loose plugs/outlets in my home. It is an older home, so some electrical updates were needed. Warranty Electric came out and suggested a whole home re-device. They replaced all of the switches, plugs, and outlets in my home and the results are amazing! Everything works as it should and I don't notice burnt or loose plugs anymore. The Warranty Electric crew is awesome, and I recommend them to everyone needing a residential electrician! You can tell they take a lot of pride in their work."

"Brian installed the panel and ran wiring at our hunting cabin. He did a great job, and was a a good sport about it being such a remote location. More recently, our lights and appliances were not working correctly. I called him and he was at our home in under 90 minutes, made sure everything was okay on our end, and stayed with me until the electric company arrived to fix the power lines outside our home. I definitely would recommend this company! They are the best!"

"They service tends to be good. The problem is the coupon. There are coupons that you get a discount of the work if over $100. The electrician comes to do electric work and someone else to other work. The electrician charges $95 which is under and you don't get the discount. The individuals who actually come out do a good job. I've used them several times. They responded to the phone call very quickly but it takes awhile to schedule someone. The quality of their work is good. I wish they were more transparent about what costs are going to be."

"Very professional, walked me through everything explaining where I understood, was very happy with the work done and clean up at the end of each day, was a great price which is was my only concern at first wondering if it would reflect on quality of work done as was pretty cheap compared to the other bids but it turned out I had no reason to be concerned. Great work."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

A 60W LED bulb is likely labeled as “60W replacement” on the package—that’s because it provides about the same light output as a 60W incandescent bulb. In reality, it likely uses less energy—usually 15 watts or less. If that’s the case, then it’s perfectly fine to put a 60W LED bulb in a 40W socket. Your best bet is to read the package carefully. It will tell you the LED bulb’s actual wattage, and as long as it’s lower than the fixture, the bulb will be safe to use.

If you plan to have a refrigerator or other appliances that require electricity, you will need an electrical outlet in your outdoor kitchen. Be sure to comply with all National Electrical Code® (NEC®) codes for electrical wiring and outlets in kitchens. If you do not plan to install a refrigerator or any other appliances that require electricity as part of your outdoor kitchen features, then you do not need to install electrical outlets. However, it is a good idea to install at least one electrical outlet should you decide to use any appliances that require electricity.

If you are having trouble determining the right breaker size for your water heater, it is a great idea to contact an electrician near you to help. They can help you determine the best option for your home and install the circuit breaker for you, ensuring that you have all the proper permits and that your circuit breaker won’t overload, which could lead to fire and other damage.

Just as fluorescent lights are more efficient than incandescent lights, LED lights are more efficient to run than fluorescent lights. The specifics will vary from product to product, but LED lights are typically twice as efficient as equivalent fluorescent lights. A 13-watt CFL bulb can replace a 60-watt incandescent bulb, but a 6- to 8-watt LED bulb can offer the same amount of brightness. Fluorescent lights offer about 50 lumens per watt, while LEDs offer about 100 lumens per watt. LED light bulbs typically last two to three times as long as CFL bulbs, too.

A 3-prong, 15-amp, 120-volt outlet is standard in the U.S. These have two vertical slots and a U-shaped grounding hole, which suits most home electronics, from televisions to microwaves. Three-pronged outlets are safer than 2-pronged ones, as the third wire, known as the grounding wire, helps prevent shocks and electrical fires.
