"The 2 individuals were professional starting with their initial assessment visit. Their projections that referenced necessary materials and time requirements were amazingly accurate which was important to me as I truly wanted the project to be completed in a timely fashion. They accomplished that as promised. They arrived early each day and worked late on most instances. Most important and pleasing for me was their craftmanship. They displayed a total knowledge of my requirements for perfect mitered cuts on each board as EVERY board on my deck consists of 45 degree mitered cuts. The gentlemrn are the eal deal. They are on my forever list. I am very satisfied."

"Zach kept me informed of the schedule. He replaced my roof, gutters and downspouts and other repair work. I am absolutely pleased. He was courteous, knowledgeable and charged a fair price. He went above and beyond adding a few extra repairs. Good workmanship"

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Permit requirements to clear land vary by municipality, so whether or not you need permits depends on where you live and what you’re removing from the land. Some building departments will require permits for any underground work or excavation, meaning grinding down tree stumps on your property would require permits. Others mandate individual permits for each tree you remove. You can contact your local building department or a land-clearing specialist near you to see if permits are necessary for your job.

With proper training and experience, reading blueprints is fairly straightforward and not very difficult. If you don’t have the necessary knowledge to interpret the symbols, abbreviations, and other notations used, blueprints may not make sense. Learning to read blueprints can help you understand the construction process and keep you more involved and informed when you’re building a house.

If a buyer pays for a survey, the surveyor they hired will only provide results to them. It’s up to the buyer whether they share the survey results with the seller or not, even if they ultimately walk away from the deal. It’s considered good faith to share the results with the seller, though, especially if you back out of the deal, as the seller can then provide that survey to future interested parties.

This is fairly rare, but sometimes the local government or a group like a historical society will label a tree as a landmark, or historical item. These designations almost always come with a small, on-site plaque for identification, but you should also be able to look up protected trees in your area on a city website or similar list. If the tree in question is a landmark, call your local government and ask how to proceed before making any plans.

Land surveying can help give clear guidance on your property boundaries for numerous situations. And in some cases, having your land surveyed is a requirement. Some common reasons to have your land surveyed include:

  • Planning for construction projects, like building a fence

  • Locating utilities, such as plumbing fixtures

  • Settling property line disputes

  • Creating subdivisions

  • Meeting mortgage requirements

  • Selling your property
