"They did a good job. I was just hoping it would stop my wood floors from creaking but they are worse. Overall believe the work done will be good for the house support though"

"I hired Randy to install a new kitchen floor, he was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything to me. The installation itself was done with precision and care. "We were looking to nstall crown moulding but i didn't have the tools or expeience to tackle the job. With the cost of the materials today its not something you want to have a lot of mistakes with. I reached out to D&M and had them come out to give me a quote. A few days later and everything looks great. All the corner joints are tight and it has made a huge difference for us. I plan on calling them again when we replace our cabinets."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals can install new frames, trim, and threshold adjustments for a complete finish.

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

Begin by analyzing the blueprints and gathering the proper materials before framing a house. With the prep stages behind you, begin by framing the floor of a house on the newly set foundation. Exterior and interior walls come next, along with rough openings for doors and windows. Contractors will then add ceiling and roof rafters to finish things off.
