"Had to run to Montgomery for an emergency for my elder parents due to Ac not working. Called Jeff on a neighbors recommendation. Could not have made a better choice. To say Jeff was through wouldn't do him credit. As a general contractor for over 30 years he is by far one of the best I've ever seen. No reservations giving Hammonds my highest recommendation. Plumbing Problems Solved Here. Rinnai tankless water heater dealer and installer. Emergency services available.

"Only a week passed. They did a very good job with toilet, kitchen sink was simple cut end off hose and re-connect, bathroom sink faucet leak was fixed. But the new stopper doesn't stay down. It is worse than the old one. I called and Lady said that "We don't guarantee a part that we don't provide." (I had bought official Delta replacement part.) I said, “You didn’t make the part, so why would you guarantee it anyway?” It is the installation that is the problem not the part. Part is not broken. She said they will supply a new part plus charge for repair again. I argued and she had worker call. He said the same thing. I said, but you threw away the package so I can't even return it. He said, “Yeah, it’s in a dumpster somewhere.” And it is not broken. He insisted it was not his problem, they don't guarantee work if they don't supply the part. He will come out and "take a look". Charge would be $178. I have already paid $400 for last visit. Therefore, they do not stand by their work. This could go on and on. I am very unhappy at the attitude by both the service guy and woman that answered the phone. Note also, that original service call, they would not give any estimate before coming out. The first estimate for this routine minor job was $800! All work done in less than an hour. I refused to pay that much for something I could have done myself. So, price was knocked down to $400. Now it appears that they are trying to get the difference back. I really thought he did a very good job with toilet repair. But issue with not standing buy labor is unacceptable. I would not recommend Scanlon Plumbing. I never had anyone charge for correcting their work. And certainly would not recommend a company that was price arrogant, and demeaning. I'm over 70, but not stupid. I called them based on high grade and "recommended" on Angie's list. That seems to be a mistake. Why would Angie's list recommend a company that doesn't stand by their work? If you look at checkmarks, it says NO under guarantee. I rated quality as "C" because of good quality job with toilet (hope it lasts). It would be "F" in all categories if job was just to replace the sink stopper."

"Very impressed. Secured four quotes. Trinity was best overall value. Did quite a bit of research on models and decided on a Goodman model GSZ160601BC 16 SEER efficiency. The two tech guys, Tim and Derek were a pleasure to meet and watch work as a team. And they didn't cut any corners. The job lasted 10 1/2 hours because as they ran into issues, they fixed them as they went. These items were not even on the quote but they went the extra mile because it was the right thing to do. 1. Reconstructed the floor mounts in the attic which took extra time rather than use the existing 2x4 mounts that were not well installed from another company. 2. Installed two overflow float switches to ensure the unit turns off before the emergency pan overflows. 3. Installed new dedicated PVC drain pipe rather than tie into the one connected to the water heater. 4. Installed new Pro Technologies thermostat as the existing Honeywell thermostat did not support the two stage compressor. If they hadn't corrected this problem, I wouldn't have even known and would have lost the savings associated with a 16 SEER high efficiency unit. It required them to run new electrical wiring too which required more time. 5. They even pointed out a problem that I need to take care of on a shoddy water heater installation a few years ago by another company. Cleaned up and took away old unit. Very impressed."

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

You will need to hire a professional installation technician or plumber to connect your dryer to your gas line or install a new line. Your gas company may be able to help you find a capable, reputable professional in your area.

In most cases, yes, it’s safe to light a gas water heater manually, but you should shut the gas off first, open a window, and let the space air out for about 10 minutes. Modern water heaters shut the gas off entirely if the pilot light goes out, but airing out the area beforehand is good practice and will ensure it’s safe to relight your pilot light manually. Just make sure you turn the gas valve to “pilot” before lighting. If the light keeps going out or won’t light at all, call in a professional.

Natural gas companies advise only shutting off the gas supply at the meter yourself if you smell natural gas or suspect there is a leak, typically following an emergency. Instead, you can shut off gas to individual appliances when necessary. If you want to turn off your natural gas entirely, you should contact your utility company. You’ll generally also need to acquire a permit to work on your natural gas line.

Consider an annual inspection conducted by a local plumber to prevent dangerous and destructive leaks. If you recently moved into an older home or are concerned about the age of your gas lines, call an inspector for a closer look. You may also be required to call an inspector after your contractor installs a new line for an appliance.

It costs anywhere from $125 to $2,000 to convert an electric stove to gas because it all depends on the current setup of your kitchen. For example, if you already have a gas line behind your stove, you could pay as little as $125 to have a plumber hook up your new range. Running a new gas line, however, costs between $260 and $820. If you don’t have gas service at all, you’ll spend around $2,000 to set it up.
