Small jobs welcome

"Josh was great to work with. There was so small problem with the size of the window that was ordered (not his fault), and he made sure the new pane was the correct size. Was great at providing updates along the way."

"Shane is as advertised. He is 'all in one'. We had a home that was pretty much destroyed by renters. Shane took on the project to overall this home from floor to ceiling. He installed flooring throughout the home; updated bathrooms including installing new floor beams; sub floor; vinyl plank flooring; cabinet and sink and repaired around tub. He is very dependable; fair in his pricing and high integrity - he does what he says he will do. Shane also can help with plumbing and exterior property work. If Shane could not take on a part of a project, he knows individuals that can help. All In One is an accurate overview of our experience with Shane to the point he is taking on another project for us."

"I hired Randy to install a new kitchen floor, he was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything to me. The installation itself was done with precision and care. The final result is absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend Randy to anyone looking redo the flooring in any room of their home."

Doors questions, answered by experts

The width of your door jamb should match your wall thickness exactly, so it depends on your wall. For standard door openings, the width is equal to the width of a 2-by-4-inch  stud, plus the width of the drywall on both sides—about 1/2 inch each—which comes out to 4 9/16 inches. Block walls and framed walls that use 2-by-6-inch framing require a door jamb that’s 6 9/16 inches. You should always measure your finished wall thickness to get an accurate width for your door jamb material.

The L marking on a door closer stands for latch speed and the S marking stands for swing speed. These two letters inform what part of the door closer you may be adjusting. The latch speed being the short final swing the door makes before closing and the swing speed being the long swing of the door when closing.

Wood, steel, and fiberglass are common choices that offer durability and style.

Kick plates can absolutely be installed on metal doors. Many kick plates for metal doors are magnetic to avoid needing to drill into the metal, but many door manufacturers make kick plates that can be traditionally installed on metal doors using screws. Consult the manufacturer’s instructions to see which is recommended for your door model.

Smart door locks are safe to use and are usually considered safer than traditional locks with keys. While all electronic devices can be hacked, that doesn’t happen nearly as frequently in real life as people may think. You can also invest in multiple locks of different types for enhanced security so you don’t rely solely on one smart lock.
