Small jobs welcome

"Chris and his father, both experienced and skilled masons, repaired our front and rear brick steps. They were prompt, brought brick and mortar that matched our steps, and did a very professional job. I will use them again if the need arises, and certainly recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone requiring brick repair work."

"After a short delay for weather, they came in and cleaned out the refuse/trash that HVAC and others services had left, then quickly went about their business. The sealing, dehumidifier (you have to change the filter regularly) and sump pump setup works well without any issues (and has been for its entirity). We are selling the house so I called and talked with Tina because the new potential buyer wants them to re-inspect and validate the warranty. There is a charge for this unless there is an issue with the system. But, there is no problem - and it is totally reasonable. I will pass that on to the buyer and will invite them to come into the crawlspace to see the good work that has held up so well since installation. I would definitely recommend them. The previous owner had another company "waterproof it" and it was not working properly and was not under warranty (i was told the warranty did not transer when I got quotes)."

"While expensive unfortunately it had to be done. Not that they are any more costly than other companies but it did seem like quite a hefty price for about 3 hours worth of work at over $1,000+ dollars per hour. Well aware of the type of cost that goes into equipment, materials, etc. but still seems a bit overpriced. All that being said, everyone from Steve that explained everything & set it up to Spencer, Oscar & Phillip that performed the job with great care & expertise to Adam with a follow-up visit on the same afternoon to make sure all was good, the team did exactly what I asked that had to be done bring our concrete aggregate front porch steps back to their original position from having settled about 5-6 inches and unlevel!! Would use them again if I had other issues that needed repair with regards to foundation/structural repair."

"This was a very extensive project that I spent months researching, hired an engineer for his professional guidance, and accepted bids from four companies. Two of the other companies were cheaper but proposed to use synthetic foam materials, which don't have a long enough track record for my comfort. Once the job started, the crews worked with great diligence, and despite the numerous difficulties they encountered, I never heard a single complaint. Total work time was 14 days over a three-week period that include Independence Day. Total cost was about $40k"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

In Cullman, it’s helpful to have a pointing trowel, wire brush, and a pressure washer for cleaning red clay stains. Keep Type N mortar, matching replacement bricks, and hydraulic cement for quick fixes. Store a masonry sealer to protect against humidity, as well as efflorescence remover and mold treatment supplies. A moisture meter can help you monitor potential water issues before they escalate.

Helpful?

Quality masonry work in Cullman, such as brick repair, chimney restoration, or installing retaining walls, can significantly enhance both curb appeal and property value. Buyers in the area often favor homes with well-maintained exteriors and traditional craftsmanship. Investing in these improvements not only boosts resale potential but also demonstrates attention to energy efficiency and long-term durability, making your property more attractive.

Helpful?

In Cullman, repair is usually more practical when damage is limited, such as minor mortar deterioration or isolated brick cracks. Tuckpointing and partial brick replacement can restore structural integrity without the disruption of full replacement. However, if you notice widespread foundation settling or severe water intrusion, replacement may be the better long-term solution to maintain safety and prevent recurring problems.

Helpful?

In AL, plan masonry work for cooler morning hours to avoid heat stress and monitor for sudden storms. Always wear protective gear like hard hats, safety glasses, and sturdy, non-slip footwear. Use dust masks when cutting or mixing materials to avoid inhaling particles. For elevated work, secure ladders and use fall protection. Keep a first aid kit nearby and stay hydrated throughout the project.

Helpful?

In Cullman, homes with uneven foundations, sloped lots, or older construction often present challenges for masonry work. Look for signs like stair-step cracks in brickwork, misaligned doors or windows, and gaps where masonry meets siding. Poor drainage or visible water stains can also indicate underlying issues that may require specialized brick repair or foundation settling solutions before starting any new project.
