"We love our patio, we were so pleased from start to finish. They were thorough and explained the entire process, and Guardians called when the work was completed to make sure we were satisfied. The crew Michael, Corey, and Kameron did an excellent job and made sure we were satisfied. They all were friendly and professional, what fine young men! It is so important for companies success to have employees that are dedicated to do a good job. You are very fortunate to have great employees, it says a lot about Guardian."

"Alex, Eddy, and all the guys did a wonderful job with this deck / screen porch build! They were very polite and straightforward with their pricing and services. I honestly do not believe anyone could've done this job any better. Feel confident about hiring these gentlemen and know you can trust them to do the job right. They take pride in their work and their reputation, and it shows in the quality of work they provide."

"Outstanding repair that saved me thousands of dollars. Rather than remove and replaced, I was pleasantly surprised that the existing broken slab could be elevated back up to the original position, then a simple resurfacing could then be done. My issue was rain water that I have now mitigated. The cool thing was that a brick retaining wall sitting on top of the broken slab also elevate to its original position, Simple mortar work will make it all perfect. These guys are legit. Hats off to Levi Woods who came out to see the need, then provide some education of the AFS process and ultimately an estimate, as well as Matthew Martin and Parris Houchins who did the repair. Outstanding young men, all. I will ask them to return for a couple smaller driveway slab repairs. Most strongly recommended! Dave O."

"I can't say enough about how great it was to work with Cantey. This was a very small project for Cantey, but based on how we were treated you would have thought we were the biggest job to date for them. Dallas Rabideaux (our sales specialist) treated us with such great customer service and updated us every step of the way and was available any time we needed him. The crew (led by another Dallas) was quick, knowledgeable, and thorough and I would definitely recommend them for any of your foundation issues. Cantey was also very respectful of our limited budget and did not try to push repairs on us that were not of immediate concern. We are very happy with Cantey!"

Patios questions, answered by experts

A sunroom will add more value to your home than a deck, but with a much higher up-front cost. Depending on its construction and function, a sunroom may be counted as additional living space, while a deck is strictly an outdoor feature. Both will increase your home’s value, but the sunroom will have a much bigger effect.

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it meets certain criteria. For instance, it must be completely enclosed with solid walls and a roof. It should also have a heating and cooling source similar to the rest of the home. Finally, the porch should have direct access to and from the interior of your house.

A sunroom offers an additional indoor space to rest, dine, or host guests, all while inviting in as much sun as possible. Either built like an enclosed porch or a fully insulated home extension, a sunroom features floor-to-ceiling windows or screens that create an open, bright design while still remaining protected from the elements and bugs.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.
