"Josh has been so kind and helpful over the past two summers that he has taken care of our pool! He is trustworthy and stands by his work. I contacted him the first time when our poolâ s bottom had tons of just â junkâ that we could not vacuum away. After one trip from Josh, the bottom of the pool was clear. As we were trying to get ready to close it for the winter, Josh advised us as to what cover we would need. I ordered it and after it arrived he came out immediately, took our ladder our (which I could not physically do) and fixed the cover. Through the entire winter, the cover worked perfectly. When spring came, Josh came out and reversed the process. We have enjoyed the pool all summer and he makes sure it stays clean, clear and chemically accurate. Thanks Josh! You make our time in the pool so much more enjoyable because we donâ t have to worry about it! Thank you!ð ¥°"

"Josh is great. He knows the pool business which can be complicated. Every pool is a little different and many are unique. I have a vanishing edge pool with in-floor cleaning and a lot of plumbing. Hero’s has done a great job for me and I will hire them again without question."

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

Yes, you will need to shock your pool with high levels of chlorine or bromine when you first fill it to kill off bacteria and pathogens. You’ll need to wait for the chlorine concentration to come back down to a safe level before swimming. After that, you can test and maintain the chlorine and other levels as normal. The only exception to this is if you get pool water delivered by a professional. In that case, the water might come pretreated, so you might not need to shock it.

Your indoor pool can be heated or unheated, but the decision depends on your local climate. In regions with freezing temperatures, heating your pool will keep it warm during the winter, especially if it’s only covered with a greenhouse enclosure.

If you keep your swimming water warm and toasty, budget between $300 and $5,700 for the cost of installing a pool heater.

If you put too much chlorine in your pool, it can make the pH level more acidic, creating a health risk. You might experience symptoms like nausea, dizziness, vomiting, skin rashes, and irritation in the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs. To lower the chlorine level, you can turn off your chlorinator or chlorine feeder, add more water to dilute the pool, or remove the cover to let sunlight naturally reduce the chlorine.

Calcium lumps in a pool are calcium deposits that form when a pool's water parameters are not in the normal range. They can float around on the surface of the pool water, making it look and feel dirty. The most common causes of calcium lumps in pools are calcium hardness above 1,000 ppm, alkalinity over 120, and a pH over 7.8. Keeping your pool’s calcium levels, alkalinity, and pH levels within the normal, safe ranges is the best way to prevent calcium lumps and other problems, including damage to the pool surface.

Yes, it's possible to make an aboveground zero-edge pool. Note that it's most common to build an inground one, but, if you raise the deck and surrounding poolscape, you can install an aboveground version. Keep in mind, if you need to haul in dirt, it can significantly raise your land prep costs.
