I have been working for my grandfather who builds custom homes and I have just started my own LLC and trying to get things going. I have my Alabama Home Builders License. I can do anything from small jobs like decks or replacing doors/ windows to big jobs like remodeling houses or building them from the ground up.
"Al was very kind and straightforward. He did initially tried to charge me a little more than the average for the area but after I explained that I had done research for the labor costs and already have materials he got the cost significantly also mention that you found him on Angie's List. I am very pleased with how the floor looks they did a very quick job some very weird layouts because my house is strange though I love its eccentricity. Though it takes a long time to book him because he is usually busy he works very fast, but not sloppily, and the work was completed in approximately 4 days with a small crew of three one of whom was his son. we are almost done with most of our work but I'm a call him back for some minor repairs thing that needs to be completed the only complaint I have is that at least one of the workers is a smoker and I found a few cigarette butts in my yard or in the bushes next to where they were sawing which was not very pleasant. That is a minor complaint though because as contractors go they show up on time and they get the work done and they get the work done well; which, I don't know if you use very many contractors, is unusual and a good thing. Overall I would use them again in a heartbeat and I would suggest them to other people. "

"The overall experience was amazing, from day one in speaking with Brian was honesty, respect and professionalism. For me to live out of state and find the kind of craftsmanship that he offers is highly unusual. He went above and beyond in doing some extra work that was needed for my Sister's home. I highly recommend Skyline Construction to anyone that needs a dependable, honest and professional contractor. Thanks Skyline for the wonderful service you gave."
".The contractor assessed the source of the water leaking into our basement. He was adamant that he could not guarantee that his simple repair would work, but he wanted to try it before embarking on the expensive task of digging down and resealing the basement. Since the leak had just appeared recently (and after some gardening work in that area), we agreed to risk the $1000 to try to caulk up the holes and regraded the soil near the leak. They came on time, finished on time, worked neatly and, most importantly, seemed to be effective in the results of the repair. I definitely would use them again even though, I felt, that the little time that it took them to repair did not seem to be worth $1000. On the other hand, I do not really know what a fair price is."
"There were some unforeseen delays due to contractors family death & a hospitalization but the workers knew how to do anything that was needed. I was very pleased with the workmanship & overall job."

Your local building code will list all the framing requirements for whatever type of structure you're building. Most exterior walls require spacing of 16 inches on-center, while many non-load-bearing interior walls only require 24 inches of spacing. However, there are also varying requirements depending on your construction material, so checking your municipality's rules is essential.
One of the most common house framing basics for decades has been using wood for the framing work. However, some framing contractors now suggest using steel frames. Steel is lightweight, resistant to fire, and resistant to moisture, all of which are areas where wood framing could cause problems. However, steel framing is more expensive than wood and limits your ability to insulate the home.
Building involves setting foundation posts, framing with durable wood, adding roofing support, and protecting from elements with water-resistant finishes.
Installing a tongue-and-groove wall requires similar techniques to those associated with installing shiplap. However, because of the precision necessary to make each board fit perfectly and the increased material prices, the cost is higher than that of shiplap installations. Expect to spend between $2 and $6 more per square foot for tongue-and-groove walls versus shiplap ones.
You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.
