Small jobs welcome

"I needed someone to clean out a house for me in the Gadsden area. I came across Junk-Be-Gone on Angieâ s List. We set up a time to meet. I was very impressed when we met up. You know that feeling you get when you know folks are being honest and fair with you? Well, thatâ s how I felt. Junk-Be-Gone worked with us regarding start date and payment options. (We are from out of town so it wasnâ t like we could meet up in a moments notice.) Jakob and his crew worked like Trojans getting everything out of the house (piles and piles of clothes, all the furniture, etc). Not only did they do the above, they took up the Carpet, washed down all the walls, cleaned light fixtures; cleaned out a garage full of stuff. I most definitely would use them again if I needed this kind of service! I am so pleased with their work ethic but most importantly that they kept me in the loop about what was happening and where they were in getting the job done - and were always upfront and honest with me! Give Jakob a call if you need this kind of service. You wonâ t be sorry- I guarantee it!"

"Colbie was very honest and down to earth throughout the whole process. Even after there were rental equipment issues during the weekend demolition of our burnt house that have caused issues with the projected efficiency of the complete removal, Colbie has made sure we were aware every step of the way. Highly recommend!"

"We decided to choose this company for the rating on Angi. The workers and Mr.Carpenter were very nice and polite. That is why I did not see any problems with paying before everything was cleaned up. My Husband is 100 disabled and I had to go inside to assist him. When I went outside to check everybody was gone. Branches and debris were all over the public road. I collected and put it in a pile an the side of the street. This was picked up two days later. The tree trunk is still there. We have lived here for 45 years and had several trees cut down but we never had a mess like when they left. A Japanese maple had only a trunk without bark. A crape myrtle was pulled out run over and destroyed."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.
