"I have used Tall Trees for a few years now for tree pruning, soil injects, and tree removal and have always been extremely happy with their work. Very impressed with the quality of work, always on time, cleaned up after the job, and my trees look great. I appreciate the time they took to explain the processes to me and ensured I was happy with the job. I highly recommend Tall Trees and I will continue using them in the future"

"These guys were awesome from the beginning. Gave me a great quote and worked around my schedule. Showed up and took down 4 huge trees and 1 medium tree. Cut them down, into rounds and stacked them. They even stacked the debris so I didn't have to collect it. They offered to haul it for a small fee, but I can do it. To wrap it up they even offer to spot me backing my camper back into its spot. I highly recommend them and won't be calling anyone else in the future."

"Shaw is knowledgeable and informative. He went above and beyond to ensure my property was taken care of and not damaged anymore by the trees that were blown over in my yard. He and his crew took great care with my buildings an equipment that were around the damaged trees. I've hired SR Tree Services two more times to help clear willows and mulch the shrubs. I'll continue to hire them as I go along here. Thanks guys for all you did for us! Fair pricing too!"

"They were very, very knowledgeable, friendly and made me feel comfortable about the job being done. And they were very prompt about getting it done and did a wonderful job. And I like the fact that they can do it without me even being there, so it didnâ t take up anybodyâ s time, and I felt very comfortable about that too."

"GREAT experience! Ià ¢à  à  m an à ¢à  à  olderà ¢à  à  recently widowed homeowner who knows absolutely nothing about trees. Through our phone conversation and FaceTime tour of the 3 trees, Mike quoted me a price that fit my budget and scheduled the project for the next day. On his arrival, he observed the subject trees and made sure he was clear about my expectations and offered suggestions about what he could do to achieve that result. In less than 2 hours, the trees were trimmed and shaped and looked even better than I imagined. The area was cleaned up nicely. Ià ¢à  à  m an extremely happy and will definitely hire Mike for future projects. Ià ¢à  à  ve already recommended him to 2 of my neighbors who stopped by and commented on how nice my trees look!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It could be anywhere from weeks to years for a dead tree to fall. A dead tree falls based on its weight, how it leans, the state of its roots, the state of decay, and what local windstorms are like, among other factors. Since it’s hard to predict the fall’s timing, it’s important to cut down a dead tree quickly and avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)

Often, it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to handle the aftermath when a neighbor’s tree falls on their property. But if a tree has been obviously dead for a significant period of time and caused damage when it fell, a case can be made that the owner should have removed it, especially if the neighbor wrote you a letter about the tree or asked you to take it down. This can be grounds for a successful lawsuit in claims court and is a good reason to always pay attention to your trees and remove dead trees before they fall.

Not all leaning trees are dangerous, but they can be a hazard as gravity may eventually cause them to fall. A key factor is whether the lean is new or has been present for a long time. Trees that have grown with a lean for years are not typically an immediate danger, but a sudden lean is a cause for concern as it often indicates weakening roots. If a tree is leaning more than 15% from vertical, you should consider having it straightened or transplanted. To be safe, it's always best to hire a professional arborist to inspect any leaning tree to assess the risk and avoid potential accidents.

Getting a tree pro with the right experience can be the difference between your transplanted tree surviving or not. When hiring a local tree transplanting and removal service, follow up on references, check their portfolio, ask for a breakdown of the costs, and get proof of liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

Also, look for companies certified by the International Society of Arboriculture or registered with the Tree Care Industry Association and make sure they have an appropriate state or city license.
