Sherpa Tree Service is a family owned and operated business specializing in safe removal of hazardous trees near your home or other valuable property. We do the jobs that are too risky or tough for everyone else. The owner, Grady, has over 5 years training, practicing business and hazardous tree removal experience in Fairbanks, Alaska. Depending on the season, Sherpa Tree Service typically has 1 or 2 employees who function as "groundies" to Grady the climbing arborist. We also offer 24/7 EMERGENCY removal of trees and fallen limbs after storms. Brush chipping, disposal of all debris, and a thorough cleanup is included in tree removal. We strive to leave your property looking cleaner than we found it. If you want stump grinding, Sherpa Tree Service will sub-contract stump grinding to a specialized service but can accomplish this on our own if equipment rental is cost effective. In an effort to steward our planet well we recycle 100% of our collected organic materials with Risse Greenhouses so it can be processed into locally developed topsoil and garden mulch. We also use emissions-free electric chainsaws whenever possible and favor biodegradable products. Our paper-reducing, tree-loving billing and estimates are delivered digitally. We accept PayPal, cash, check, and all major credit cards. We are fully insured and happy to provide a copy of our certificate of insurance to customers upon request. We do not require customers to make payment up front. Payment is due upon completion of work and any payment 30 days past due incurs a 20% late fee. Sherpa Tree Service is the best option when you need to remove a tree beside your house.

"We hired Mulcare to hydro seed 5000 square-foot of new lawn in the Summer of 2022. The new lawn accented 2400 sqft of newly poured concrete patio and walkway for our home. Mulcare hydro seeded our lawn on June 29. Approximately six-weeks later we hosted an outdoor dinner for 65 to 75 friends and family on our new patio. Our lawn was thick and full. It stood up to the foot traffic of yard games and people mingling and enjoying themselves. We, carefully, followed Mulcare’s specific instructions to establish our yard following their seeding. Their prescribed instructions require water 3 times each day for 21 days. It also includes specific information on mowing your lawn after it reaches approximately 4”. We had several questions along the way and the staff at Mulcare always answered promptly and professionally. If you want to establish a beautiful lawn for your home it takes commitment and hard work as a home owner. Mulcare’s professional services are a sure bet to get started on the right path to a beautiful lawn. We fully recommend their work with no reservations. Thanks to Mulcare’s help we have created a beautiful new look to our lawn and home."

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

To have a fallen tree removed near your home, you can expect to pay between $100 to $500. Your local tree removal professional will most likely just need to cut and remove the tree from your property, but factors like the size of the tree and its trunk diameter impact this cost. In addition, there will be an extra cost to fill in the hole left by the tree, and while you have your tree removal specialist on-site, it might be worth it to have them inspect the other trees in your yard for potential damage. Trees that have fallen onto your home or another structure, will likely be more costly to remove.

On average, removing a tree costs around $750, but you can expect to pay between $200 to $2,000. Factors that impact the overall cost include the number of trees you’re having removed, their height, the diameter of their trunks, permits needed, and the tree’s accessibility. You’ll pay more if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or dangerous location, like close to power lines.

The cost varies depending on a number of factors, including the size of the tree, location, accessibility, whether or not the stump is also being removed, and other environmental factors.

  1. If there are no online reviews, ask them for referrals. If a tree removal company is reputable, you won't be their first client. It's perfectly acceptable to ask for references on your initial call, and if a removal company won't provide referrals, it's time to move on.

  2. Find out what equipment they use. Some types of tree removal equipment are better than others, and a removal company might need special tools to get your particular job done. On your first conversation with a prospective removal company, make sure that you clearly express the nature of the job you want accomplished and receive assurances that the company has the proper equipment.

  3. Consider all of the costs. Always ask for an estimate up-front. Inquire about the job itself and any potential hidden fees that you might not be aware of.

First, get references. Be sure to ask about their history and how long they have been in business.

Budget over $1,500 if you need a tree removed from your yard that’s larger than 80 feet. Large tree removal is a significant project that requires a crane, and the overall price will increase if the tree is close to your house. Typically, smaller trees can cost as low as $8 per foot to remove, while larger trees (over 80 feet) can cost at least $15 per foot.
