I was in a bind with a garage fire that left the boiler and plumbing exposed to incoming -23 degrees temperatures of November 30th. The fine people at Alaska's Best Heating and plumbing came over the day I first called and gave me the bad news of having to replace the entire unit. They bent over, through, and under every hoop to install a new boiler within THREE DAYS. Everyone else in Fairbanks and North Pole could only meet a two month out install. My home is safe from freezing because of the kind service performed by Robbie and Sandra at Alaska's Best!

The installation was not without difficulties, due to the fact that the bathroom walls were out of square and level by a significant amount.  They were able to work around this and provide us with the name of a good worker who could do the extra work and the portions of the construction that were not in their bid.   Ultimately, everything worked out, but it took longer (three weeks) any of us had anticipated.

I contacted this plumbing business because my water jet pump would not torn off and there was a lot of air  in the lines. The plumber replaced the electrical switch and then proceeded to tell me the problem was in a toilet, since the switch did not fix the problem. He insisted on replacing the float in the toilet, and that did no good. He then proceeded to tell me all the mechanisms in my toilet were not the original equipment but replacements which was wrong. I knew that because I have owned that fixture since 1984, and nothing has been replaced. His fix didn't work and he promised to "think about it" but never called me back. He left me hanging with lower pressure than I had before.

Open wall board and repaired several broken drain pipes. Mark worked very hard and was very professional in all of his work and communications. This is clearly the kind of customer service you want coming to your home.

The plumber was a hack. I had another outfit finish the work and they didn't like the rough in, either. Septic was too shallow leaving the house; rough ins thru the wall were crooked; toilet set too close to the wall (luckily they make 10" clearance toilets); didn't include a filter at the pump; etc.
The company has since replaced the plumber with a newer one that appears to be competent. I cannot verify.

Was happy with a prior plumbing job done by this company so decided to take advantage of an advertised Fall tune-up special they were running.  Technician was prompt and efficient.  No problems were discovered, just normal cleaning of furnace, replaced nozzle and filter, adjusted electronics, did combustion test.  Did a thorough job and very satisfied.

Came out same day I called to give us an estimate and discuss what needed to be done.  Jim arrived on time on the day arranged for the repairs and got right to work.  He was courteous, a hard worker, and seemed to know exactly what needed to be done.  Had to get into the crawl space to re-route the pipe up through a closet, and then get in the attic and on the roof to complete the vent pipe job.  When he began work on the faucet, he discovered he needed a different part and had to leave to get that but returned quickly.  Was completely satisfied with the work and the cost included a senior discount.

Jim was our plumber and he was fast, friendly and courteous, and spoke highly of his company....always a good sign!  Thank you, Jim!

I thought it would be simple to install the stove, and maybe it was, but I opted to have a pro do it right. They showed up on time and installed the stove with no problem. The plumber even helped me move back a heavy piece of furniture I'd moved to get it out of the way.

We called them up to have them come out to fix it. They came out and realized it was turned off. Most companies would have charged me $150 (minimum) to come out, they didn't charge us anything because it was a simple fix.

Jim, the plumber was prompt, professional and courteous.  He did a good job problem-solving on the job also.  He answered all questions clearly and with a friendly attitude.  He even came back after the tile work around the tub was finished to finish attaching faucets, and doing a "test run" on his own time.

Went well, the service man arrived on schedule did his assessment of the scope of work (took about 45 minutes) left to acquire the parts, returned about 3 hours later and completed the work ( took about 30 minutes).

It went very well.
The plumber, Jim, was punctual, friendly, proficient, competent.
I gave him an overview of what I hoped he could work on, setting him to work on the priority item - toilet change-out - first. 
Because we noted during the overview that the supply line and flange and outflow pipes were corroded, replacing these was added to the job list. Water supply needed interruption for only one minute while he put a new valve where he would be adding new line, which he had in his truck.   While I drove to the plumbing supply shop that carried the additionally needed sewer line parts, Jim carried on prep work plus attempted to dismantle the kitchen faucet, which I had not been able to do; Neither could he.
With parts on hand, toilet work was quickly finished, area cleaned, and advice given for faucets, allowing me to improve one and replace the other.
Jim did not charge for travel nor overhours time.

This business is a good community business and will definitely use if need a home call.

I have been using AK Best for my annual boiler service for 3 years now. They always send knowledgeable technicians who are professional and ensure their work is completed to include clean up afterward. This last time, I could not stay around during the entire service. The serviceman locked the garage (as requested) and the receptionist called me afterward for payment. Nice to have folks you can trust.
