We expanded the original scope of work to add carpet and paint in the primary bedroom; they took on the challenge without a hiccup. We love our new space! They gave us consistent status updates about the state of the day’s work, what the plan for the next day was, who would be doing the work, and when they would arrive. Because of supply-chain issues, what had been marked as a 9-week project stretched to 24 weeks; but they worked with us every step of the way, advising us if we should substitute materials or if waiting would be a better option. When our original floor tiles were held up indefinitely we were able to make changes on the fly because of the original scouting trip we’d made with Renna - no need to spend another day looking at samples

When they came out to build the template, the guy was great and provided an option that we had not thought of regarding a topper for a half wall. - GA CHOTT & ASSOCIATES INCAs expected, there was a long delay between signing a contract and work beginning. This was not the fault of the contractor --- material availability since COVID was the obvious factor here. G.A. Chott was about 'middle of the road' in terms of quotes we received for our kitchen. We had quotes that were 25% less and quotes that were tens of thousands more. Ultimately we felt that the detail in the proposal materials and the professionalism of Darryll (owner) made G.A. Chott the best fit for us. With the work now complete, I do feel we made the correct decision in having them perform the work. In the end, the project wound up being about 14% over the initial estimate. It is important to note that some of this was due to changes made by us, the customer. A good portion, however, was bringing electrical up to code. In our opinion this would have been easily discoverable during the estimate by viewing the breaker box, so I was a little disappointed by this. From demo day to completed kitchen was right at 2 months. That said, after 5 weeks we had a mostly functional kitchen (appliances and cabinets in place, cardboard countertops). Work then paused until countertops were ready; this delay is not G.A. Chott's doing, but certainly something to plan for regardless of who you go with. Material quality is midgrade per my research --- better than box store and a bit below high end. This was in line with the price point as compared to other estimates. Overall we've been happy with G.A. Chott, their staff and quality. We would hire them for additional large projects, but would take what we've learned into that scenario, do a bit more research into code compliance (as compared to when our house was built) and ensure everything possible is accounted for in the initial quote

I worked with Mike Metzger, who sent me the quartz colors he had that would match what we were looking for and fit in our budget. He never pressured me to go with something more expensive, and gave us samples of all the colors we were considering to take home before we made a decision. "Mike and his team are absolutely wonderful to work with. We moved into our new home in October of 2020 and our basement was completely unfinished at the time. We worked with Mike to create plans to add a bedroom, office, laundry room, family room, and an additional bathroom.
During the project, we were so happy with Mike and his team that we asked if he would be able to help us with the upstairs as well. For the upstairs, MH contracting removed a wall that separated the kitchen and living room, removed carpet in the bedrooms, updated two bathrooms with new tile and vanities, along with installing new vinyl plank flooring throughout the upstairs. The wall was removed flawlessly and you would never know that there was a wall there.
For the basement, they stabilized the stairs, installed completely new framing, fixed plumbing components that were not up to code from the previous owner, fully insulated and dry walled, painted, all new electrical and panel upgrades, added an egress window, and laid new vinyl plank flooring. The basement is now completely finished with proper permits and fully passed inspections.
Mike’s communication was great throughout the entire project and all of his team members were very polite, clean, and helpful. He kept us up to date on any material delays throughout the pandemic and set proper expectations. There were material delays that were out of Mike’s control so the projects took about four and a half months to complete but they were a pleasure to work with the entire time.
We would absolutely recommend Mike and his team to any of our friends and family for any work you’re looking to have done to your home or business.
