Paul was amazing to work with, as was his son. In Phase 1, they tore down the fence and deck, took the debris away, and built a clean, well-constructed fence in very little time and left everything absolutely clean. A few months later we had a pergola installed by another company. Paul had previously given us an estimate for a deck to fit the pergola that we felt very reasonable and he stayed within that estimate for the final construction. On the day they arrived on-site, we added an additional component not in the original bid and he immediately said he could do it, and charged an extremely reasonable price for the additional work. The actual deck is extremely well designed and well-crafted - very professional, and blends beautifully with our old craftsman-style home. He and his son were hard, expert workers. I've had other contractors that stood around or took long lunches. In comparison, Paul and his son worked through a hailstorm and cold weather. They accomplished the whole deck in three days from start to finish, and left the site completely clean when they left. We really can't recommend Paul enough. They were professional, courteous, excellent workers. Their work was very solid and well-done. We would hope to hire them again for any construction we had in mind

We hired Rene and his team to replace our fence and were impressed with their attention to detail and appreciated the advice they gave us to extend its longevity at minimal cost. We were so pleased with the finished product we asked them for a bid on interior painting. It was a long week for our 3000 sq ft home, but they protected every inch, painted every inch with consistently clean lines and repaired all the holes and areas our dogs had chewed on. This is a crew that takes pride in their work and craftsmanship

Elias and his crew did a wonderful job! He allowed me to design a cedar good-neighbor fence with with a lattice topper and a gate with an arbor. He custom built the gate using a 2" x 4" metal screen I purchased from Overstock.com. His crew dug out the path for the concrete sidewalk with a paved area for our recycle bin. I am so sad I cannot share photos with you because it all turned out so beautifully! The fence is so pretty and private and the gate is stunning! The sidewalk curves along that edge of our property and so does the fence. It is graceful, ornate and well-built, too. The concrete sidewalk and pad are so perfect what with all the rain we have been having. No more puddles! We were so happy with Elias and his team we can't wait for them to come back to add a bit more fencing and another gate with a matching insert, of course. We have a couple of other things for them to do as well. BTW - Our NEIGHBORS have been very complimentary and love the look of our fence and gate as well. Thanks, Elias

Crew from Rick's fencing just left our home after spending the day replacing boards on existing deck, planter boxes and fixing some problem areas on our aging but serviceable existing fence. They were friendly, professional and thorough from first thing in the morning until the very end. (They even took care around plants in our yard.) It is rare to have service that goes above and beyond but it sure happened today thanks to Mike, Josh and Nate

I was very pleased with the entire process. My old fence was removed and replaced with an upgraded look. They were in fact ahead of schedule and did a beautiful job. Even went the extra mile to eliminate the sag in my old gates. I will be hiring them again.

Working with Cesar was great! We had issues with multiple people prior to Cesar in getting quotes. He took the measurements and he gave us a quote within 10 minutes while everyone else needed a few days or even a week. He was awesome keeping on top with the invoices and communicating with us in scheduling everything. I definitely recommend him and will probably use him for his other services when we are ready

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
