  Harman Gill from Geek Squad saved the day for me. I am 74 and not a tech person.. I could not make an appointment because of the screen on my iPhone. He hooked it up to another keyboard and made the appointment. He then tested the iPhone and found the problem. He didn’t have the screen for my phone, so he got me an appointment at Apple for that same day. My iPhone is now working great I am one happy person and wish there were more people in this world like Harman. Please put this review in his file. Thank you Janelle Webeshow more

  Dropped iphone and totally shattered screen. Called Apple because I thought I had the protection for breakage. Was told I only had the extened warranty for service. FYI - $49 for service warranty, $99 for full warranty. And, with the full warranty you still have to pay about $50 for screen replacement. ATT doesn't know the difference and told me the one I got was full service. Apple said it would be $149 to repair and I had to make an appointment with the and quot;Geniusand quot; at the Apple store. Went to the internet and found Cell Phone Rescue. They have locations all over Dallas metroplex and good reviews. I took it in first thing in the morning and they fixed it while I waited. The only thing I can say was less than an A about the experience is that the location I went to was close to 15 minutes late opening and the guy who opened the store and waited on me had poor communication skills. The repair ws quick, 1/3 the price. They do make you sign a form that you understand that your warranty may be voided. Oh well. Maintaining a $49 warranty by paying an extra $100 for the repair was a good riskshow more

  They explained to me that because I had an unauthorized repair service attempt to fix the issue before coming to them that Samsung would not consider this to be a repair done under warranty. I was fine with this. Once the Technician opened my phone I could see why it wasn't charging properly. (Instead of repairing the charging port as the other company said they did they only used a huge amount of soldier to try and keep it in place; this was after two different attempt to repair the problem.) The Technician told me that due to what they had done he might not be able to repair the phone and that I might have to replace the motherboard, but the only way to know for sure was to remove the pile of soldier and the bad/broken charging port and inspect that area of the motherboard for damage. I authorized him to do whatever was necessary to determine what needed to be done. He removed it and then showed me the damage on the board done by the company. He said to give him a few minutes to see if he could mitigate the damage, he showed me the motherboard after the repair and then reinstall the new charging port. It now charges from any of my charger without any propping or positioning to get it just rightshow more

  I had done a lot of research on how to deal with a bad home button on an old iPhone. I had figured out how to change my battery on an iPhone 4S and that was a very simple repair, but the 30+ steps to fix a bad home button was beyond my basic skills. I chose iFix based on a Google review that was very favorable. I called and set up a Saturday appointment (weekends are appointment only). We had a miscommunication on the time of the appointment, but it was not a problem as he worked me in that morning. His location is in an older 6-8 story building at the NW corner of Preston and Forest. He is in a small office and does all of his repairs on site. John did the repair as I waited and we chatted about iPhone repairs and his business. He started this business in Dallas a few years ago after running this same business in Chicago. John seemed very honest (e.g., he explained that it probably wasn't worth the cost to change a battery on an old iPod touch tbecause it would require destruction of the glass to get to the battery) and he was very efficient. He did the repairs at a desk while we talked. After watching the repair, it was very evident that (a) John is very skilled, and (b) I had no business doing this repair myself. There is a 90 day warranty on his work. I highly recommend iFixshow more
