Excellent! First trip came for a diagnosis, then we received an estimate and several phone conversations that were all very impressive and shared several options. Ian, returned with his helper Marc, and they did an excellent job. Kept us informed every step of the way and they saved us $10,000 from another plumber's estimate

I had my house leveled in 11/14. As a result, I had leak(s) under my house, although I didn't know where or how many. I tried a couple of other plumbers who were unable to find all of the problems before I finally contacted Excalibur. Thomas came to the house a couple of days later and we discussed the previous attempts to resolve the problems. Thomas also did some camera checks of the pipes. He left a contract with me before he left and I gave verbal acceptance later that day. Before they the work, all of the crumbling cast iron pipes under my house had been replaced with PVC. This was all happening during almost constant rain in Austin, so it took time to actually begin the work. The rain continued pretty much throughout the length of the project. The tunnels flooded and the trench that was dug from my house to the street flooded. Work took much longer than anticipated (about a month) because of the rain. My house was built in 1966. I've been experiencing plumbing problems and fixing pipes for about a year. The house leveling exacerbated the plumbing issues and caused many of the original cast iron pipes to break. As the plumbing investigation continued, it was discovered that some of my pipes were encased in the cement beam under my slab. Those had to be rerouted. Excalibur's price was very reasonable considering the extensive plumbing that was required. I did qualify for a discount due to my age and that was very welcome. Thomas and Blake discussed each problem with me, making recommendations for corrections and the cost involved. I have a one year guarantee on the plumbing. I did not crawl into the tunnel to see the plumbing, however, Thomas did provide me and the City Inspector with extensive pictures. I felt like I had a good working relationship with Thomas and that I was kept well informed throughout the plumbing portion of the project. I did have a couple of minor areas of concern. Excalibur required that all of the contracted amount be paid at the time the plumbing was completed. I waited a couple of days after the final payment for the large pile of excess tunnel dirt to be removed from my driveway but I finally had to contact Thomas and Blake to get it removed before it rained again. The trench was also filled incorrectly and I asked to have the backhoe return to make revisions. I did, and do, feel that final payment should not be given until all of the contracted work is completed. And lastly, I found pieces of PVC pipe, plumbing gloves and aerosol cans in my yard and under my hedge for at least a week. It was dark when the plumbing was completed, but it might have been advisable to have someone return to the site to make sure those items were removed. These concerns caused the "B" rating in Quality. I will definitely hire Excalibur for any plumbing problem I have in the future. Thomas and Blake appeared to be very knowledgeable concerning ways to address plumbing problems, even when the problems were a bit unusual. They returned all my phone calls and text messages and I always felt that they were keeping me informed and doing their best to correct my plumbing problems. The plumber and tunnel guys worked for hours in water and mud. I really appreciated their help, willingness to share information, and friendliness while they were covered in mud. I most highly recommend Excalibur Plumbing for your plumbing problems

We've had them twice Oct of 2013 and April 2014. The toilets and washing machine backup. I've called them in the morning and they have come in the afternoon. Landon was courteous and professional. Excalibur is who will have come in the future. Thank you Angie's List for having them on your list.

The city had brought in a backhoe and done repairs. However, I had several versions from the teams of what needed to be done. Given there had been numerous problems on my street, I wanted someone to double check to be sure that there would be no problems in the immediate future on my part of the line and that the city had completed what was needed on the city portion. Excalibur scheduled an appointment quickly, was pleasant and professional when they arrived, scoped the line and reported back to me

It went really well. Louie kept us informed every step of the way. The project ended up requiring a bit more than was anticipated but we are grateful Louie discovered that the original terra cotta sewer line was leaking and had been shoddily repaired with terra cotta roof tiles and roof tar. Louie answered all of our questions and was very professional. Bonus: we had been told by our home inspector that we most likely needed to replace our stove. Louie was able to fix the gas line to the stove, thereby saving us hundreds on a new stove

The water heater flush was routine - no issues. The real adventure was in getting the sewer line cleared. The problem (which we pretty much already knew) was between our downstairs toilet and where the sewer line from there joins with the sewer mainline. We also already knew the problem (said toilet not flushing well) was due to roots in the line. What we didn't know was the extent of the problem and if anything could be done about it short of replacing the sewer line. Thomas (our technician) pulled the toilet off the drain and discovered root tendrils coming up from around the outside of the pipe, going through the wax ring, and then combining into a single root that went down into the sewer line. He cleaned all that out and was even able to pull from the sewer line a root length of about 4 feet that was holding onto several pounds of waste; it was absolutely disgusting. Thomas then augured the line. Now the toilet flushes great (for the first time in a few years). Thomas packed some copper sulfate in the area around the sewer line opening before he put down a new wax ring and re-seated the toilet. Hopefully that will help at least ****** the growth of the roots around the outside of the line. After Thomas left, we hit the sewer line (via the toilet) with some Roebic brand foaming root killer. Hopefully that will take care of root growth inside the sewer line. Only time will tell and no guarantees, but we feel pretty good about it. We will need to continue hitting the toilet with the foaming root killer, though (we plan to do it twice per year). All said, Thomas did an excellent job and really earned his pay on this one. He was courteous and professional throughout. We had had a different company out before (about a year ago) but they only told us what the problem was and said we needed to hit it with the root killer and see if that improved the flushing performance. This time, though - with Thomas - we feel like the line has been cleared and the root killer will be just for maintenance (albeit very important for at least slowing the recurrence of the problem). Very happy, as usual, with Excalibur Plumbing

Excellent experience all around. Excalibur provided a highly competitive estimate and performed the desired work for the estimated cost. They were professional in their communication when the plumber would arrive within a previously provided time window and indeed arrived within the specified window. The plumber had the parts necessary for the work with him and the high quality service was provided without worries. I will use Excalibur again and would recommend to others

They returned my call promptly when i called. They arrived mid-way through the 3 hour window they gave me. Thomas was the workman, he was pleasant and informative. The work was done efficiently. Good experience. (By the way I used them previously for a sewer repair, and that was good too on Excalibur's part. The part that was less exciting was waiting for the City of Austin to come out to approve the work... but Excalibur could not do anything about that.

The problem is a strong sulfur/sewage smell occurring in the shower about 5 minutes after the water is turned on. Since the problem doesn't occur with other showers/faucets in the house, the idea that the smell was from the hot water heater was ruled out. This left the idea that the shower drain p-trap was not retaining water and the sewer odor was backing up into the shower. Thomas from Excalibur came in and ran a camera down the drain to determine that the p-trap was indeed holding water as it's supposed to. He also checked the seal around the shower pan to look for cracks or leaks. He also plugged the drain and filled the shower pan full of water to see if the smell would occur. Unfortunately, there was no smell which seems to rule out the drain. He suggested we double check to make sure it's not the hot water heater causing the smell (i.e. - turn off the hot water when the smell occurs, and see if it goes away). Or, the second choice would be to replace the shower pan and make sure the drain/p-trap/seal etc is all done properly. Overall I'm pleased with the work done. My main concern was that there might be a crack in the sewer line that was causing the p-trap to leak and the camera ruled out that possibility. So now I'll need to focus on other sources
