About the team

This role requires a leader to guide the expansion of Angi's IT Asset Management efficiency. The team this leader supports defines and manages the IT ownership framework for SaaS applications, Cloud Services, and related vendors. This position offers broad exposure to all tools, systems, and services utilized by Angi Engineering. The ideal candidate will bring experience in managing software asset management programs and providing hands-on leadership. Additionally, this leader will oversee the complete hardware lifecycle, encompassing procurement, inventory control, and disposal.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive IT ownership framework for SaaS applications, systems, and services.
    • Define and document standardized processes for software procurement, onboarding, administration, renewals, offboarding, and governance.
    • Ensure the framework aligns with Angi's business objectives, policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Regularly review and optimize the SAM framework to ensure its effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate inventory of all software assets, including application details, vendor information, contract terms, usage data, and license entitlements.
    • Track software licenses throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and optimizing license utilization.
    • Utilize SAM tools (e.g., Freshservice, Zapier, Google Workspace) to automate inventory management, license tracking, and reporting.
    • Proactively identify and address shadow IT to bring all software usage under IT governance.
  • Oversee the software renewal process, including:
    • Reviewing usage data and business needs.
    • Negotiating renewal terms with vendors (partnering with Procurement).
    • Approving or rejecting renewals based on business value and cost, partnering with leadership/business owners.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with IT, Procurement, Finance, business owners, and software vendors.
    • Work with IT Operations to optimize spending by identifying unused licenses and redundant applications.
    • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding software usage, costs, renewals, and compliance.
    • Provide training to relevant teams on SAM processes and responsibilities.
  • Monitor application performance and usage.
    • Track key metrics and generate reports to demonstrate the value of the SAM framework.
    • Provide regular updates to IT leadership and stakeholders on SAM activities and outcomes.

  • Maintain precise records of hardware assets, encompassing specifics such as model, serial number, location, assigned user, and warranty details.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, a related field, or relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, or a related area.
  • 4+ years of experience leading and/or managing team specific to IT asset management responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models, contract management, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across different departments and levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., PCI, SOX, GDPR, CCPA).

Preferred

  • SAM certification (e.g., CSAM, CAMP).
  • Experience with cloud computing and SaaS environments.
  • Proven ability in Google Sheets, Excel, or similar software.
  • Experience with process improvement and change management.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $160,000 - $190,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
