American Leak Detection’s highly trained technicians use non-invasive leak detection equipment to accurately locate leaks to save time, money and avoid unnecessary property damage. We are the world leader in the accurate, non-destructive detection of all leaks including hidden water, sewer and gas leaks.

"BEWARE - VINYL LINER REPAIR - BEWARE Before you consider calling American Leak Detection for a pool repair, I think it is fair that you know that this company will only guarantee their work for 48-hours. If they leave, and your pool is still losing water, you have 2 days to find out and report it. "What happens if they patch my liner and the patch comes loose on the third day?" Too bad. You just spent $367.00 and have nothing to show for it. "When will they tell me about this policy?" They will tell you after you've paid, not before you've paid. If fact, they won't even tell you in person. It will be in an invoice, that is emailed to you, and in an attached document, in the fine print. "What does this $367 cover?" Not a whole lot. Their tech came over, looked into my pool, and patched a hole near the edge where my deck was, so that he didn't have to get in the water. He said it was a simple fix and that he could probably just charge me for a leak test (which they didn't). He told me that he ran a test, on a day with 20 mph winds and strong gusts, and that my pool was no longer leaking. (I did not get to see these "test" results.) I asked him if he checked for any other leaks - I was told no. I asked if he was going to dive into the pool, and check the perimeter, the seams, the skimmer seal. I was told he was not. He told me he guaranteed his work. He told me to watch it for a few days, make sure that it wasn't leaking, and to give them a call if I had any problems. I immediately marked the water level in the pool, and filled a bucket of water to compare. The water level dropped over half an inch the first day. I marked it again the next day. After a few days, and a couple of days with rain, I checked and I had still lost 3 inches. My bucket had lost 1/4" - I called first thing Monday morning. My pool was still leaking. I was IMMEDIATELY told that they would not do a single thing. They referred me to their policy - 48 hours - and that if the patch doesn't hold they would have to come back out. I was told that they would only come back out for another $367.00 - they will do NOTHING after 48-hours. I however, can GUARANTEE that I will not be calling this company again."

Pool and Spa Servicing FAQs

You should have your spa or hot tub inspected and serviced yearly to prevent more costly repairs. Regular hot tub maintenance can save money and help keep you safe from hazards such as faulty wiring. Call a professional hot tub repair specialist, who will know what common issues to look for and have the parts and tools on hand to fix them immediately.

Pool repair costs vary depending on the type of pool. Repairing an inground pool ranges from $350 to $2,700, depending on the extent of the repairs needed. Repairs to an above-ground pool usually cost $100 to $700. The most common repairs include patching or replacing the vinyl pool liner, fixing plumbing or electrical lines, and repairing pumps, filters, and other equipment.

The cost to repair a hot tub or spa ranges from about $170 to $550, depending on the repairs needed. Some of the most common hot tub repairs include leaks, clogged filters, and tripped GFCI breakers. If it’s an electrical problem, you should contact a professional hot tub repair service. Don’t DIY electrical repairs on a hot tub, as poorly repaired wiring can make the hot tub a serious electrocution hazard.

Depending on the size and type of pool, cleaning services cost about $80 to $150 per month, or $960 to $1,800 per year. Pool maintenance and cleaning services often include:

  • Testing the pH levels of your water

  • Cleaning filters, skimmer baskets, and traps

  • Skimming surface debris from the water

  • Vacuuming the pool

  • Additional cleaning and upkeep
