"Sembro did an excellent job working on our kitchen/dining room remodel. We started the design process a year early, and Daniel worked through multiple iterations and estimates with us. Daniel was always supportive, patient, and provided helpful feedback on design when we asked. Once the project started, the Sembro employees were professional and timely. Daniel remained in constant contact during the project and ensured everything was done how we wanted. The end result has transformed our house!"

"THEY HAD THE BEST AND MOST PRACTICAL IDEAS FOR MY KITCHEN DESIGN. EVERYTHING CAME IN ON SCHEDULE AND OUR ONLY COST INCREASES WERE DUE TO OUR WANTING TO UPGRADE MATERIAL. THE TEAM WAS ALWAYS PUNCTUAL AND EVERYONE WAS EASY TO WORK WITH. I WAS ONLY WITHOUT A STOVE AND SINK FOR A FEW DAYS. I HAD A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM."

"I requested a quote for a full kitchen and bath remodel. They responded quickly to let me know they were booked for the next 5 months, and asked if I was still interested. While ultimately I hope to schedule someone sooner, I really appreciated them getting back right away to me to let me know. Thanks for the good communication!"

"Kwik Kitchens is maybe the best contractor choice we?ve made in years. Dick has fantastic bedside manner (lots of knowledge and funny stories!) and is exceptionally patient (trust me). He came in with subtle but effective ideas to design our ?original? 1940s kitchen, adding efficiency and storage that never would have come up with ourselves. If I could do it again, I?d take even more of his advice! Tom is also a fantastic installer. He did the work in just a few days and was a pleasure to have in the house. We appreciated his pride and attention to detail, as well as his openness about the process. Months in, the work is holding strong. I?d suggest these guys to friends in a heartbeat."

"We recently remodeled a 100 year-old Craftsman home. We initially discussed the project with Mose Troyer and were very impressed with his knowledge and advice. The project required replacing and replicating a considerable amount of the woodwork. Mose also modified the existing Shaker kitchen cabinets. Modifications included building new cabinets to match the existing ones. He also adjusted several cabinets while maintaining the original look of the cabinetry. Mose also completely built an entire wall of pantry cabinets in the Shaker style. He installed new baseboards and window trim. He rebuilt and repaired existing window trim in several other rooms. Mose integrated the repairs to the point that after painting no one could discern that the sill had been repaired. His work was flawless. In addition, he walled off a doorway and built a bookcase with enclosed shelves in the lower half. He installed 10 new doors with hardware in line with the original style of the home. He also installed two barn doors with hardware. He is conscientious and easy to work with. Without his creativity and craftsmanship the project would never have been as successful and we’re thrilled with the results. Without reservation, we highly recommend Mose for cabinetry/carpentry work."

"Greg recently completed a major remodeling project of our second floor, which included the complete renovation of our two second floor full bathrooms, replacement of existing doors, and replacement of all of our trim in all bathrooms, bedrooms, and hallway. Greg also constructed framing and drywall, and a new powder room in our basement which connects our finished half of our basement to an unfinished half of the basement. The bathroom work involved moving walls and significant plumbing modifications due to the total reconfiguration of both bathrooms. We could not be more thrilled with our experience with Greg. His attention to detail and communication with us was second to none. We hired a separate design firm to prepare drawings and specifications for the project. There were a handful of issues that were design related that Greg would quickly coordinate with both the designer and ourselves to resolve the issues. Greg also replaced framing and drywall in our finished basement in 2016 which went as smoothly as this project. I will definitely be recommending Greg to others we know planning a future remodeling project!"

Small jobs welcome

"Bruce and his team (Gaylin, Adam, Pedro and Flavio) were great! They were receptive and made our vision come to life. Gaylin even presented his own ideas on lighting which we loved and hadn’t thought of before. Bruce came in with the best quote and overall we are happy with the remodel. The bones are great. Drywall is perfect. Tile work is beautiful. We wish the final finishes (doors, baseboards, door frames, and stair trim) were given a little more attention to detail to match the quality of the rest of the work. At the end of the day, we would recommend Bruce and his team if you’re looking for a budget friendly remodel."

Kitchen Design FAQs

The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.

Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.

There are a few things you can do to prepare for a home remodeling project to ensure a smooth construction process. Creating a detailed budget can help you stay on track, especially with the excitement of new construction or upgrades. It’s also beneficial to map out a remodeling timeline with your contractor to have clear expectations. In addition, you’ll want to prepare the space that will be worked on ahead of time—this could be tarping furniture or entirely removing belongings from the room.

Home renovation insurance, sometimes called “dwelling under renovation coverage” or “builder’s risk insurance,” helps financially cover any damages that occur during the home renovation process. While different from typical homeowners insurance, many homeowners insurance policies already include some sort of home renovation insurance or offer it as an additional add-on. While this insurance isn’t necessary for every home remodeling project, it’s best to contact your insurance company to verify if it’s needed and what your coverage options are.
