"Had the whole house insulated in 2016. Just found out that there is now mold in the attic. Have had three different contractors come to look at it and ALL have said the reason is because when the insulation was blown into the attic they did not take the time to rake it away from the soffits. Now I'm faced with a major repair bill of $3000 to eliminate the mold. Plus, to make matters worse, my utility bill did not go down very much after having this done. "My wife and I attended a presentation by James Manfield, the owner of GreenForce.  We were impressed with company product and Jame's punctuality, professionalism and honesty.  We decided to hire his company to add insulation to attic of my in-laws house.  The installers came on time and over 9 hours managed to complete 95% of the job.  The installers were polite, professional and clean.  The subsequent installers came next day and completed the job.  We are very pleased with James and the service provided by his company. As FYI, we had similar radiant barrier installed by another company in our own house in 2012 and we were pleased with the reduction in heating and cooling cost."

"This was a frustrating experience. We were very specific about what we wanted done: We wanted to keep mice out of the house by excluding them with something better than the typical Brillo-like mesh that many companies use. We've already had that done and it was insufficient. We didn't want to use any baits/traps. We wanted no work within the house at all. 
We also wanted to keep carpenter ants out of the house. We did not want a yearly contract since trying to kill ants outside in the dead of winter didn't make a whole lot of sense to us. We only have problems a few months per year.
The salesperson, who was very nice, arrived late to provide the quote and took more than an hour to complie that quote. We were asked many questions about the interior of the house that were not applicable.
 
The quote for the mice exclusion was slightly higher than a competing firm, but we decided to proceed. The initial quote for the ant protection, however, included a yearly contract that specifically did not include carpenter ants (!). 
By phone, I again specified that we wanted to protect against carpenter ants. First we were told that would be extra (even though that's the only thing we wanted done!), but then the quote was changed--same price, just a note to exclude carpenter ants. We were skeptical that the approach would be any different. 
We were told that the contract could be canceled at any time.
On the day when the sales person arrived to obtain my signature, we were told that the ant contract was in fact for a year and could not be canceled. That was the straw that killed the deal. The ant protection was no longer what we wanted, and the mouse eclusion was more expensive than a competitor. And I did not have the confidence that it would be done according to our requests.
So, after several hours of trying to get a quote and make sure the service is what we wanted, I decided to go with another company. Very dissappointed that so much of my time was wasted.

"After having a major pipe bust and leak issue repaired, we then had to fix up water damage as well as damage left by plumbers trying to fix our problems.  One of the damages at hand was wet insulation and wet and rotting boards holding that insulation up underneath the side of our kitchen where it meets our back porch (about 2 feet off the ground). 
Tom came out and not only removed the section that was damaged, but pulled out basically the whole row of boards and insulation that followed along where our kitchen and porch meet (not damaged, but older).  He then added all new insulation and replaced all the boarding holding it up.  His charge for all of this doesn't seem fair... to him.  
Now, when just about anything needs fixed around the house, we are ready to give Tom a call!

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
