"I just bought a 35yr old house that was well built and well maintained. Given the age however I wanted to be sure there were not hidden problems. So I had the chimney cleaned and inspected. There were minor age related issues with mortar in the flu, old caps, roof flashing, brickwork that need pointing, etc. Fireplace Pros performed the inspection then returned in a couple weeks and fixed all the problems in a day. Should be good for another 35 years. They were professional, prompt, and personable. I highly recommend them"

"We used their services for a chimney/fireplace inspection for a home we are considering to purchase. We worked with Ted Parker. He was on time, efficient, professional, friendly and most importantly very honest with his assessment. The value we received for our money is amazing. We highly recommend their services and look forward to their continued success."

"100% satisfied with the work done by Supreme Brick & Chimney. Josh responded to my Angi request very quickly and squeezed our house into his schedule only a couple business days out. The chimney cleaning process was extremely clean with ZERO dirt going anywhere besides in Josh's vacuum. Very friendly and happy to answer questions while offering service at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be returning for future chimney and fireplace work."

"Almost all the work was done by Jason Dunham who managed to squeeze us in on short notice.  He was very helpful and obviously knows what he's doing.   He had to replace part of the rubber roof and patch and paint the corner where the roof had leaked and rotted the wood on our patio overhang.  To make it possible for us to see what was going on with the actual roof, he took photos with his smart phone, showing us the before and after of each step along the way.
He figured out a way to repair the rotting corner without delaying the repairs for weeks by ordering the same kind of wood (redwood is hard to find).  I supplied some paint, and he spent a lot of time on the last day sanding and painting the affected area.  He even sprayed ant killer on it when he spotted a large ant.
Basically, Jason went above and beyond to make this repair.  It looks brand new.

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"Jody Plant Masonry did a complete chimney rebuilt. Jody, the owner, answered all my questions I had throughout the project. The work was done in a professional and timely manner. All the workers were polite and each and every day cleaned up after themselves. Anytime there was any type off issue, Jody was on it and had it taken care of right away. The final product looks great, and I would definitely use Jody 's company again in the future and would refer him to others. Also, the cost of the project was very competitive and fair."

"The VH crew did an awesome job on my chimney. They communicated promptly and clearly what to expect and then delivered exactly that. My chimney was cracked and leaking, now, it not only looks great, but is dry as bone. If you need masonry work, this is company to use."

"Great! Darrin responded to my inquiry very quickly, was able to complete the job - installing 11 pairs of exterior shutters which were relatively sizable and heavy- in the timeframe we needed (which was the same week we put the inquiry out), his pricing was competitive to other bids, and he was very communicative the entire time regarding arrival times, etc. He helped us determine the brackets that came with the shutters were unlikely to hold up and worked with us to find a better solution. Also, he noticed our exterior lights needed upgraded. Funny enough, we had already purchased 7 new exterior lights. When we told him we had lights ready to install, he gave us a quote on the spot that was better than any quote we had and he was willing to do that work while on site for the shutters. He did fantastic work and was very professional. Highly recommend!"

Chimney Cap Installation FAQs

Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.

A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.

Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:

  • Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris

  • Help prevent chimney fires

  • Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture

  • Maintain your chimney flue liner

  • Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature

Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.

The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
