"I just bought a 35yr old house that was well built and well maintained. Given the age however I wanted to be sure there were not hidden problems. So I had the chimney cleaned and inspected. There were minor age related issues with mortar in the flu, old caps, roof flashing, brickwork that need pointing, etc. Fireplace Pros performed the inspection then returned in a couple weeks and fixed all the problems in a day. Luther,a Roofwise foreman, came the same day I called to inspect the project to estimate the job. That was in August 2009. However, the roofers did not start work until right after New Years. I am highly satisfied with the responsiveness and professionalism of this company, the delay in start date notwithstanding. I have noticed some water staining on the soffits in two places, suggesting that some leaks persist. But Luther responded quickly when I phoned about this and I am confident Roofwise will solve this problem."

They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. "UPDATE: After posting a review here on Angie's List, the company contacted me about applying a second layer of concrete to the shoulder and resealing it. The new concrete is on, and looks much better, and I'm expecting the resealing to happen soon. Communication was generally clear and the final repair looks okay. There were are few problems, though. The cap on the shoulder is very uneven and it appears that two different materials were used (different color concrete). Also, it rained mid-repair, causing a leak that stained the ceiling below the chimney. I can't see the crown, so I don't know what condition it is in."

Darrin responded to my inquiry very quickly, was able to complete the job - installing 11 pairs of exterior shutters which were relatively sizable and heavy- in the timeframe we needed (which was the same week we put the inquiry out), his pricing was competitive to other bids, and he was very communicative the entire time regarding arrival times, etc. He helped us determine the brackets that came with the shutters were unlikely to hold up and worked with us to find a better solution. Also, he noticed our exterior lights needed upgraded. Funny enough, we had already purchased 7 new exterior lights. When we told him we had lights ready to install, he gave us a quote on the spot that was better than any quote we had and he was willing to do that work while on site for the shutters. He did fantastic work and was very professional. Highly recommend!"
