The owner after making the appointment never showed up. Try calling the office many times and never got a call back. Not a way to run a business

They showed up on time Friday morning and worked through the entire day, and finished up by noon Saturday. Monday afternoon and evening it rained alot, and on Tuesday we discovered a fair amount of water had entered the house and done some damage to the drywall ceiling and insulation. I called the guy who gave me the estimate and he showed up a few hours later. They told me they had run out of caulk on Saturday. JR (foreman?) showed up a few minutes later and they added the missing caulk, but both the estimate guy and I agreed it was too much water for just some missing caulk. A week later the same crew returned and tore off the peak and re-did the roof over where the water leaked in. Rained hard again within a few days, same leak. Crew came out again, tarped the area where water leaking and said would return when weather better. They came again and tore off the shingles around the chimney and found and showed me rotten wood above the chimney. They had no answer for why that wood was not replaced when they did the original repair. It is leaking again as I write this, and it has been almost 6 weeks since this ordeal started. I am still waiting for the dry wall guy to pay a visit to begin the repairs.
Response from Horvath Roofing Inc

"Horvath Roofing, Inc. was out to address this leak three times. Each time we tore off and replaced the flashing around the chimney where [member name removed] thought the leak was coming from. The leak continued. Horvath Roofing, Inc. hired an independent chimney professional and he found that the leak was not caused by Horvath Roofing, Inc. The mortar in the chimney was damaged and the leak was coming from the chimney itself and not the flashing. [member name removed] paid a chimney professional to repair this problem and has no issues since then. Horvath Roofing, Inc. did everything we were supposed to do on our end, and actually paid for things that were not needed as it turned out. We did not charge for any of that. We ask that this negative review be removed at this time."

Within three weeks of having the roof done, Hurricane Sandy came through and ripped off five sections of our roof that had not had time to get settled and molded on our roof. They cleaned up beautifully, we hardly found any debris around our home.

Update: 6/2013: He came out to look over a water issue in my roof. He said it was not his fault.  He came out again for under sizing the drip edge, exposing the edge of my hundred year old roof and tried to charge a service fee for getting his ladder off the truck. He did not take responsibility for the undersized drip edge, and my painter solved the problem for me by caulking in the exposed wood.
Response from Horvath Roofing Inc

"In September 2011, Horvath Roofing, Inc was contracted to install a roof for [member name removed]. This project required careful planning due to the close proximity of the houses in Lakeside and beibg a two story house, it required intense labor. HRI prides itself in taking on difficult projects, so we went to work! This project required redecking which is labor intensive and difficult being two stories high. We assisted the [member name removed] through the entire process, even doing additional work that was not on the contract for NO additional cost. This tendency of asking for additianl work continued throughout the entire job until we finished. She was very pleased with the final project and even tipped the crew and made them something to eat, which was very appreciated. In October of the same year, hurricane Sandy came in and tore off sections of the roof, as hurricanes tend to do. We were contacted. That very same day we went out and temporarily repaired the roof until we received the shingles from our supplier. we then completed the repair. At NO time did any water enter the house, we responded immediately and took care of the problem. Fast-forwarding to the spring of 2012, [member name removed] called again because she thought the roof was leaking, when it was actually in fact a window. This became clear after many calls. She thought that HRI was responsible for this, and she thought that every problem that she wrong with her house was Horvath Rooinfs fault. Including a chimney that was leaning, a leaking window, light coming through the soffit and etc. The house is over 100 years old and there are going to be some problems, but we were proud to have installed the roof on this century old home. As a company we pride ourselves in customer service but cannot support service calls that are not related to our warranties and the work we have done."

Horvath was very punctual, they actually came out and gave me an estimate the day that I called. They are very friendly and the service was quick and painless. The roofers began early morning and finished that same evening. They even came back the next day to make sure that they did not leave any nails sticking out from under the gutters and to pick up and debris around the yard that was left from the demolition of the old roof and installation of the new roof

Overall, this experience was a good one. No one wants to have major surgery to their home by amateurs, but these guys are not novices at their job. I watched them work and finish the job from start to finish, and it was reassuring to know that they were not going to leave before my house had a complete roof on it before they left for the day.
