I recently hired Atlantic Appliance Repair to repair my older model GE dryer. The trip charge was $49.95, compared to GE's $90 + , and it was waived by Atlantic when I went ahead and did the repair. GE's charge would not have been waived nor applied to the repair cost. A very pleasant gentleman named Singh came to do the estimate the same day I called to request it, and he also did the repair when he returned with the parts. Although the cost was $300+ (after giving me a discount that I believe was because I'm an Angie's List member), I went ahead and spent it, because the parts were more expensive due to the age of the dryer; I wasn't in the mood to shop for a new dryer (a very cursory search showed I would have paid around $700 for a new one); and I believe in repairing something that still has life in it rather than tossing it in the landfill. Singh also showed me the lint that had collected behind the drum and recommended I get my dryer vent cleaned as soon as possible (they do not do that work). I recommend this company very highly.
