"The project took two days.  It involved jackhammering about 65 feet of concrete 6 inches wide next to the indoor block wall.  The concrete was super hard and that task was hard work.  Installation of the below ground drainage system and sump pump went smoothly. All jack hammered material was carried out one 5 gallon bucket at a time.  Needless to say there was a lot of dust created indoors.  Perhaps they could invent a better way to suppress or deal with that dust.  We have had one hard rain since the installation, and not a single drop of water appeared in an area that would have previously seen water.

"Bath Fitters end product was fine...but had to comeback for a full second day to redo shower walls not installed quite right. No extra charge but took a day out of my life. I am pleased with the final result"

"I had a plumbing problem that needed immediate attention. After calling local plumbers to no avail, I went to Angie's list and called the first plumber on the list. He called back immediately and said he'd be there within the hour. He showed up when he said he would, politely introduced himself and his assistant, and went right to work. Not only did they resolve the blockage, they discovered the break in the pipe that caused the problem. These two guys worked like a well-oiled machine. They were focused, efficient, and professional; they explained everything they were doing; and they treated my 94-year-old mother like a queen! I'd hire these guys back in a minute! They are superb professionals!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

A passed state inspection is the clearest sign that plumbing in Sutton meets all code requirements. In homes using private wells, your water will run clear without rust, sediment, or odors. You will also experience consistent municipal water pressure between 40 and 80 PSI. Furthermore, properly repaired pipes in crawl spaces will survive the first hard winter freeze without bursting, and your septic drains will flow freely without gurgling.

Helpful?

Handle minor plumbing issues by locating and testing your main shutoff valve in your basement or crawl space before emergencies occur. Thaw frozen pipes safely with warm water rather than using an open flame. Never disturb pre-1980 pipe insulation to avoid asbestos exposure. For septic systems, skip chemical drain cleaners and use a plunger instead. Finally, report any street-level water pressure problems directly to your local WV water utility.

Helpful?

Several factors influence the timeline for plumbing in Sutton. State permit processing for significant repairs adds scheduling delays between project phases. Older homes built before the 1970s hide deteriorated cast iron or galvanized pipes behind walls, extending the scope of work. Additionally, homes relying on private wells or septic systems require follow-up water testing or separate pumping services, making multiple visits necessary to finish the job correctly.

Helpful?

Schedule plumbing in Sutton between late September and October to address vulnerabilities before harsh winter freezes arrive. You also need an inspection after any Elk River flooding to check basements and crawl spaces for shifted connections. Additionally, evaluate your system if your well water changes color or taste, you notice slow drains indicating septic backups, or your pre-1970s home still relies on original galvanized steel supply pipes.

Helpful?

After finishing plumbing in WV, schedule a final inspection with local authorities to ensure code compliance. For homes on private wells, re-test your water quality through a state-certified lab to check for sediment or bacteria. You must also review pipe insulation in unheated spaces before the freezing winter months arrive. Finally, verify that below-grade pipes in Elk River flood zones have proper protection against backflow and flood intrusion.
