I have specialties in the skilled trades of plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling and Remodeling. I have a contractors license and my HVAC license. I have been in the industry for almost 20 years and learned my first trade at 13. I am reasonably priced and always do good work. I also always stand behind my work. I am currently interested in mainly the service work. Meaning fixing leaks, adding some wire fixing HVAC equip but will take a look at some smaller remodels as well.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Smart light switches are designed to work with traditional switch wiring, so they should work within your home. However, you will need a Wi-Fi connection to use them properly. Older models may use different connection standards like ZigBee, which must be supported to control them.

Rewiring projects cost anywhere between $1,500 and $10,000 on average, depending on the complexity and the size of the rewiring. You can anticipate spending between $2 and $4 per square foot of wire, including labor and materials. Wire material ranges from $0.25 to $1.60 per linear foot.

A circuit breaker flipping off when it detects an overloaded circuit isn’t a problem, but flipping the switch frequently can damage it and eventually cause an electrical hazard. If you’re going on a long vacation or leaving your home for the season, you should avoid turning off your circuit breaker to prevent electrical damage to your system.

Systems should be checked every 2-3 years or whenever signs of age appear, maintaining network integrity and safety at all times.

A faulty light switch can trip a breaker due to circuit overload or a short circuit. A faulty light switch may not always trip a breaker, so don’t use that as your only sign that something’s wrong. Always investigate the cause of a switch that isn’t working properly, feels hot to the touch, or is making unusual noises.
