"We recently hired Don Belcher to paint the inside of our home and front door. We could not be more pleased with our decision to do so. Don promptly provided us with an estimate of the cost, that he didn't go over, and was able to start painting earlier than originally planned. Do was meticulous in his work and went the extra mile to ensure no paint went where it shouldn't. When schedules changed due to other work being done in the house, Don was flexible and cooperative in rearranging his schedule to ensure deconfliction. Don has an outstanding work ethic, showing up on time and giving us a full day's work for a full day's pay. Our job was his number one priority until completion. In addition to doing a top-notch painting job, Don assisted with little extras such as making recommendations, running to get and change light fixtures, airflow regulators, outlet/switch covers, etc. He also provided us with great information about the community as we were new to West Virginia...restaurants, social activities, and outdoor recreation. Whether you use a brush or roller depends on the size, shape, and amount of tiles. Metal is finicky, particularly when exposed to the elements. In other words, you should always prime your metal garage door before laying down paint. Primer not only helps the paint stick to the metal, but it also prevents rust from bleeding through. If you already have some rust and want to avoid it peeking out, cover the spots with a zinc chromate primer. 

This depends on the size and design of your door. If your door is on the smaller side and features some unique design elements, go with a brush to ensure you get in those hard-to-reach crevices without painting outside the lines. If you’re painting a large door, like a double door or garage door, and the panels are flat, go with a roller to get the job done quickly. 

While painting can certainly change the look of a chimney, you should think twice about giving your brick chimney the old landlord special.

Painting brick is porous, meaning it’s full of tiny holes that can soak up moisture. Those holes also allow it to dry, though. So, when you paint it, you trap any moisture inside, providing an opportunity for mold, mildew, and water damage.

Paint also shows wear faster than naked brick. This means that once you paint a brick surface, you’ll have to keep painting it to maintain a clean look. A paint job is also harder to undo on brick because of its porous nature. Once you paint it, it’s hard to go back without some serious power washing—another added cost.
