"We recently hired Don Belcher to paint the inside of our home and front door. We could not be more pleased with our decision to do so. Don promptly provided us with an estimate of the cost, that he didn't go over, and was able to start painting earlier than originally planned. Do was meticulous in his work and went the extra mile to ensure no paint went where it shouldn't. When schedules changed due to other work being done in the house, Don was flexible and cooperative in rearranging his schedule to ensure deconfliction. Don has an outstanding work ethic, showing up on time and giving us a full day's work for a full day's pay. Our job was his number one priority until completion. In addition to doing a top-notch painting job, Don assisted with little extras such as making recommendations, running to get and change light fixtures, airflow regulators, outlet/switch covers, etc. He also provided us with great information about the community as we were new to West Virginia...restaurants, social activities, and outdoor recreation. Although most contractors, like painters, earn an hourly rate and do not expect tips, you can still tip if you’re satisfied with the job and feel that the painters went above and beyond. Tipping about $20 to $50 per worker can go a long way in showing your appreciation for a job well done. If you want your paint to have a smooth finish, the technique you use is very important. Keep your brush at a 90-degree angle while applying the paint and feather as you go. Between coats, sand the wall lightly using a very high grit sand sponge of at least 220 grit.

You can paint over old paint on a concrete porch. For the best results, you should first clean the surface and remove as much paint as you can. A power washer is helpful here, but you’ll also want to scrape as much of the old paint away as possible. Then you should prime the porch before repainting it.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

Because of its chemical composition, you don’t need to prime fiberglass before painting. Paint will adhere without issues and have a smooth, even appearance without needing a primer coat. However, a top coat may be necessary to limit damages from weather and ensure you don’t need to repaint your door so soon.
