"My microwave oven broke right before the Thanksgiving holiday. Help!!! I called By All Means And More and, as usual, they rescued me. They installed my new microwave very quickly. They came just a few days after I called them and put me into their schedule as an emergency. I have used these guys for all sorts of construction and fixes around the house. They are friendly, courteous, clean and always do what they promised to do. They clean up after themselves beautifully. Their list of references is a mile long. ?"

"Brad, his family and coworkers were amazing to work with for beginning to end. They got me the metal panel I wanted and went out of their way to make it all work. Above and beyond my expectations. I contacted over 25 roofers and hands down they were the best! Reasonably priced and unmatched professionalism and friendliness! My house had hard cuts with many valley's and they made everything come together beautifully! We just had a storm with 60 MPH Winds and no Damage! I called them because I thought a cap came off and they came out the next day and answered the call first time. It ended up being a left over piece of material leftover pile. Now I have peace of mind and that is everything with an investment in new metal roof! THANKS BRAD and CREW!!!"

"I liked everything, he is a volunteer fire fighter like myself. Don showed up and did the work, he made my project happen. Don adapted even though I changed my mind multiple times he worked right through it and made it work. Don was always there when he said he would be."

Siding questions, answered by experts

The living space of a home doesn’t correlate directly with how many square feet of siding you’ll need, but on average, a 2,000-square-foot home will need 1,700 square feet of siding or 17 squares of siding. Your siding measurements will vary depending on the layout of your home, the number of stories, the size of your doors and windows, and even your roof style.

Before applying paint to exterior surfaces, filling any cracks or gaps with caulk is essential. Sealing them with a combination of caulk and paint prevents moisture from damaging the paint or decaying the underlying material. You want to ensure the caulk you purchase can be painted over or that you opt for a caulk the same color as the paint.

To clean painted aluminum siding, use a mixture of mild detergent and water applied with a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose to remove soap residue. For stubborn stains, cleaning aluminum siding with a power washer on a low-pressure setting can be effective. But avoid using high pressure, which could damage the paint.

The biggest con of insulated vinyl siding is that it’s more expensive than traditional vinyl siding. If you’re hoping to save costs on your siding project, you’ll have better luck finding budget-friendly vinyl siding, which can cost as little as $2 per square foot, installed.

Vinyl siding is the cheapest option in terms of upfront costs. The average cost to install vinyl siding is around $12,173, with certain types like vinyl shake, clapboard, or dutch lap costing as little as $2 to $3 per square foot. While vinyl is very low-cost, it may not last as long as natural materials or metal, with a typical lifespan of 20 to 40 years. In contrast, metal siding is more expensive initially but can save you money in the long run due to its longer lifespan, which is often double that of vinyl. It's recommended to consult a siding professional to determine if the lowest-cost option is the best material for your specific home.
