"The deal on Angie's list stated that wires would be "dressed." To me this means that the wires would be covered. There were wires sticking out all over and was extremely unsightly. I had to pay an additional fee to "dress the wires." When that was completed, it looked much much better. Unfortunately, the pictures below show how it looks now. Some wires are still exposed and the paint was chipped."

"We have American Home Shield warranty. We did have some plumbing and electrical work done. I have no idea who the service was because we did it through the home warranty. They have a $75 deductible for everything. American Home Shield has been great, definitely A across the board. The $75 deductible seemed great for cost and professionalism. They have a web site, Hub, where you can request service and everything, so A across the board for them. They are punctual and they cover the range of plumbing and - they cover a lot of issues with the home so I can always go to them if anything goes wrong, from plumbing to electrical to appliances. They've got me covered across the board."

"There were many things wrong in my computer (my fault and letting grandchildren on computer) Robert was so helpful, gave me many good instructions to keep everything safe, which I have written down, feel like I have a new computer. He was so excellent and experienced, took his time and was meticulous about what needed to be done. He was a pleasure to work with and I will use this company again! Linda Disy"

"I just bought a house 2 months ago. I have had one problem after another. I called this company today, Sept. 3rd, 2011  at 9:30 am because all the electric in my upstairs went out. The owner himself showed up to my house 15 minutes after calling im, and worked all day to find the problem with my electric. He had a very hard time finding the main wires to replace and fix the problem, but said he wasn't giving up.  He was professional, courteous, and did a fantastic job. I would recomend this company to anyone for any home repair needs. "

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Overusing space heaters or plugging multiple high-wattage devices into a single outlet is common in Franklin, WV, especially during cold snaps, and can strain your wiring. Ignoring moisture buildup in basements or crawl spaces can corrode electrical components. Letting outdoor outlets remain uncovered during snow or rain, or failing to trim vegetation near service panels, can all lead to premature wear of your home’s electrical system.

Helpful?

When planning electrical work in Franklin, WV, consider the impact of frequent power outages from summer storms and harsh winters. Many rural homes rely on well pumps and outbuildings, which may require dedicated circuits. The mountainous terrain can delay project timelines, especially during winter. Also, older homes in Franklin may have outdated wiring that needs upgrading to meet current safety standards and support modern appliances.

Helpful?

In Franklin, WV, address any electrical work involving burning smells, sparks, or hot outlets right away to ensure safety. Generator installations and heating system repairs should be completed before winter weather arrives. Upgrades like surge protection or adding outlets can be scheduled within the year, while purely cosmetic changes can wait. Always consider the local climate and prioritize projects that protect your home and family.

Helpful?

Electrical contractors in Franklin, WV, include specialists in home wiring, generator installation, and agricultural electrical systems for barns and outbuildings. Some focus on integrating smart home technology or upgrading older homes to modern standards. There are also contractors who handle emergency repairs, whole-house rewiring, and solar panel installations, ensuring homeowners in Franklin have access to a full range of electrical services.

Helpful?

In Franklin, WV, flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or buzzing outlets often signal underlying wiring issues. If your home has older knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, especially common in historic Franklin properties, it may not meet current safety standards. Outlets lacking GFCI protection in kitchens or bathrooms, or visible corrosion on panels, are clear signs that electrical work should be professionally evaluated and possibly redone.
