"Anthony did an amazing job with the kitchen. Cabinets were installed, new floors were put in, was available for delivery of appliances as well as installation of the appliances, patched drywall, painted walls, new ceiling installed. Coordinated well with other contractors to ensure electrical work and countertop measurements were taken to ensure completion of kitchen remodel. Went above and beyond with work, offered solutions for cost saving, and was available to contact throughout the whole process."

Moving questions, answered by experts

If you’re using a moving company, the best move in date typically occurs on a weekday in the middle of the month between September and April. Mid-month moves on weekdays are less popular and therefore less costly, and the weather will usually be less severe in the fall or spring. However, if staying on budget is your priority, a mid-month move on a weekday in the winter is your best bet at finding the best deal.

It's typically best to hire movers who specialize in moving pianos because moving them often requires specific equipment and finesse, especially when it comes to grand pianos. However, some standard moving companies have experienced piano movers on their team, so it never hurts to call a company and ask about their piano moving expertise.

Moving across state lines is a similar process to moving within a state. Packing, loading, and unloading of trucks will follow the same process. The primary difference is during transportation, where your belongings may be loaded onto a dedicated moving truck or combined with other shipments, depending on the distance. Your moving company will offer tracking and ongoing communication of your boxes.

When moving yourself, you should consider the non-monetary costs, such as time spent and physical and mental stress. If you’re packing and moving every box on your own, or with the help of a few volunteers, you can expect the process to take several days or even weeks. While it’s a less expensive option than hiring full-service movers, keep in mind that the process will be much more difficult.

The most expensive part of moving is hiring professional movers. However, hiring a pro is more efficient and less stressful, so many people find the cost worth it. You’ll also spend a lot of money on packing supplies, including boxes, tape, and bubble wrap, so ask around to see if any friends or family members have old supplies you can use for free.
