Wynn Dent Construction

The work started out just fine but the longer we worked with the company the less responsive they became. The major problem is that they no longer return phone calls and we have found out that a lot of the work has not been up to standards. A good example is that the shower in the bathroom did not have concrete board behind the tile. Water got behind the tile and softened the drywall. We will now have to remove the tile and drywall board and put the proper concrete board in and put new tile on the shower walls. The shower base was out of level by1/2" in four feet. The tile to the shower was sealed with silicone caulking. The grout for the shower area was not a water proof type of grout.

We will have to replace the floor tile since we have major problems with the way it is put down and the heating system was not properly installed. The floor in the the bath room was underlaid with 1/4" cement board instead of 1/2" cement board. The floor heating system was installed incorrectly. The temperature sensor was rolled up and stuffed into the box for the thermostat instead of coming down the wall to the floor where the floor tempeture could be sensed. The heating system needs to have some type of slurry so that the heating wires have something to nest in. The floor tile was not laid out so that there was a level surface. The were high spots in the floor allowing the tile to move.

When we put on new siding we found that that the new roof had some soft spots where the underlayment was not properly fixed and that where the two sections of roof met there was a problem with how they were connected.

Overall, this has been the worst experience with a general contractor ever.I am 70 years of age, this was to be my last move, and my "dream home" is a nightmare. RJ, when he has returned our calls, states that he will be over to discuss our concerns and complaints - and never shows. He had exaggerated to other contractors and home improvement store employees how much money he had made from me and my husband - on a job he did uncarefully and sloppily. At least he was consistent in that respect.Because RJ is not taking responsibility, we are having to get another contractor to redo what we have already paid for once.I do not and would not recommend RJ of Wynn (Dent) Construction to anyone - he isn't capable of building a dog house.
