"Allied Fence and Deck was quick to respond to my post. All my questions and concerns were addressed prior to arriving at my home. Allied’s representative was courteous and respectful. He arrived promptly and gave me a reasonable estimate to remove 2 downed pine trees and several dead boxwoods. The pricing was more than fair. Work was performed efficiently, and professionally. I am pleased with the results and will continue to use them in the future."

"Job was performed by the date agreed upon. The 'Tree Dude' as we'll call him since I am horrible with names and already forgot his was a very nice/polite guy who was confident with the job needing to be performed and did it well. The work itself was a tree cut down and removal and was performed very professionally. Post job cleanup was thorough and considerate of surrounding areas."

"Levi and Bobby showed up early, were enthusiastic and engaging, they are professional tree service professionals. they worked swiftly and cleaned up a hug mess. I was so impressed, I invited these two young men into my home to join my family for a meal after the work was done. Great work, fair price, and thorough. This is a authentic review I hired them!!! "Mr. Charles Markley was fast in responding to my request on Angie's List.  He came out the next day and gave me a quote which I felt was fair for the size and mass of the trees to be taken down.  I did not have them do the clean up because a friend wanted the wood.  They arrived on time and worked very efficiently.  Mr. Markley was friendly and professional.  They did a great job.  I would definitely use them again.

"Wonderful! I will only use J and J tree service for my yard. This is the second big job they have completed for us and not only do they do an excellent job, but Richard is knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to fix other landscaping issues I have without me even asking! I highly recommend and will use over and over!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

DIY is risky and not recommended for large trees; professional services ensure safe removal and proper disposal.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.

Service costs depend on several factors, including the system's age, type, and size, as well as the complexity of the repair. Labor costs and whether replacement parts are necessary also play a significant role.
