"Arrived on schedule. Went through the elimination process and determined problem was in the line to the pump or the pump itself (no water pressure). The service rep explained everything so that I understood fully what was going to happen. The pipe to the well motor was pulled up and a nickel sized hole was found in the pipe about 10 feet from the pump. The pipeline was galvanized metal and was very rusty. More holes were sure to develop; so, I had the whole line replaced. We also found the pump was 30 plus years old so, I had that replaced too. The service rep kept me informed through the entire installation process; as well as what to do after everything was completed. The pump had to be flushed with chlorine so, there is a short waiting process, tap flushing proceedure and water testing that he explained before leaving."

"There was no leakage until about three weeks ago.  The crack then reopened and water is seeping through.  We have tried to contact them.  However, they shut down their email and three phone numbers.  They will not return any messages.  It was a lifetime warranty, but that does us no good if they are out of business.

The existing problem (and why they have C's from us) is that we have completely lost contact and have no way to get resolution."

"The technician drilled a couple holes in our duct work and used a camera to show us the inside of the duct that connects to the external portion of our AC unit as well as the internal coil housing. He identified that the internal section near the coils had deteriorated due to water leakage and mold growth (which was pretty obvious from the view from his camera) and that the system had clearly not been well maintained. (I should point out we bought our home last fall and were aware that the AC unit was over 25 years old and the duct work near the furnace was patchwork at best, but we were unaware of how bad the section near the coil was because a different HVAC contractor hadn't drilled any holes to look). He also identified that the duct leading to the external portion of the AC (and other parts of the house) was dirty and dusty. He advised against running the AC anymore until repairs could be made. For the purposes of diagnosing our problem and highlighting the areas of concern, he was very helpful and provided us with what we felt was good information. We asked how much it would cost for a range of options to solve the problem - from A) replacing the duct work and removing the AC coil (leaving us properly arranged duct work, but no AC to B) replacing the duct work and putting in a new coil (and not replacing the 25 year old external AC unit) to C) replacing the duct work, coil, and external AC unit. He supplied us with information on options A and B, but at no point gave us any relevant information (products, cost, etc) for replacing the external AC unit despite the fact that we had indicated our willingness to consider full replacement at least twice while he was in our home. I did not press the issue of this lack of information because the technician seemed more interested in discussing the importance of having our ducts cleaned and signing up for Holland's Comfort Club, which is a service agreement with some benefits for a monthly fee. He also suggested briefly that if we were to consider full replacement, that we would need to have some kind of home heat assessment done based on square footage of our home and the number of windows, which sounded both expensive and bogus. Finally, after my wife and I indicated (multiple times) we needed time to consider our options, it was obvious the technician was applying some unnecessary pressure to have us make a more immediate decision - which was definitely not helpful and unappreciated and told me I wouldn't be further utilizing any services provided by this company. Overall the service we asked for was competently performed and punctuality was not a problem at all; however, the high pressure sales tactics and the focus on duct cleaning and the service contract were a definite turn off.

"They did a fantastic job. They showed up on time and were very professional throughout the whole process. I was concerned about the project because it was a big job but they reassured me along the way and I saw first hand how efficiently and professionally coordinated the whole process. I have not had any water leaks so they successfully solved the problem!!! I would highly recommend them."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Generally, it is safe to bathe in yellow water, as the color is often caused by iron, tannins, or rust, which won't harm your skin. Soap will still clean you effectively, though the water might leave stains. However, if the water has an unusual smell or you suspect contamination, avoid bathing and contact a plumber for an inspection. A professional can also help if you find bathing in yellow water problematic and want to determine how to get your water clear again.

If your ‘do isn’t doing what you want it to do despite using good hair care products, hard water might be to blame. Since hard water can’t rinse soap off as well as soft water can, your hair might grow limp because of the shampoo and conditioner residue that’s left behind. If you color your hair, you might see it fade more quickly or even turn a different shade as the dye reacts with the minerals in the water. You might also experience an itchy scalp, thanks to the dryness that comes from bathing in the hard water.

You can install a water softener system by turning off the water supply, draining the water, and then connecting your device to the waterline. Next, you’ll fill your tank with the recommended amount of salt or brine (whichever your unit calls for; be sure to read the instructions). Turn the water supply on and check for leaks. You can opt to let your water run for a few minutes, then test it using strips.

The process of inspecting your water softener system is similar.

A water softener is a worthwhile investment if you live in an area with hard water. While hard water is safe to drink, it contains minerals like calcium and magnesium that can cause significant problems over time. These minerals build up inside pipes, reducing water flow and eventually corroding the plumbing system, which can lead to leaks and a shortened lifespan. Hard water also damages fixtures and appliances, potentially resulting in costly repairs. Additionally, it makes soaps and detergents less effective, meaning you'll use more product to get things clean. By installing a water softener, you can prevent these issues. The initial investment is often recouped through long-term savings, including lower energy bills, reduced appliance and plumbing maintenance, and spending less on soap and cleaning supplies. Other benefits include cleaner linens, dishes, and clothing, as well as softer water that is gentler on your skin and hair. In some areas, a water softener can also increase your home's value, making it a valuable long-term investment.

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.
