"This is the 4th project we've used DaVinci for. Arrived for work exactly as scheduled just like previous times. Quality of work is top notch. Painted interior walls and ceiling perfectly. Painted wood vanity and it turned out better than expected. Helped us match existing paint without sample and it matched perfectly. Service is always very kind and trustworthy. Comes with our highest recommendation!"

"Wow, Culver's Painting came highly recommended and they painted the entire interior of our home, including the paneling and cabinets in the family room. We could not be more pleased with their quality work and fair pricing. They painted our home as if it was their own, great attention to detail, great staff on the job, nice guys, very polite. Our home is in Brookfield, I'm a 40 year resident here and a Realtor for over 30 years, so I know a lot of contractors and Culver's Painting is #1. Honestly: "The value of our home has increased at least $25,000" and I should know, I'm an experienced Realtor and I know this market. Thank you to Josh and the guys. "Five Star did an excellent job. We had a lot painted, open concept with high ceilings, walls and ceiling painted, all trim painted, interior doors, garage door, etc. They arrived on time each day, cleaned up at night and were done with the job in 3 days. They did excellent work and we absolutely would hire again."

"We couldn’t be happier! The gentleman were meticulous in preparing the house for painting. Every window, frame, gutters were either covered or removed. Not a drop of paint were it shouldn’t have be. The recently planted flowers were protected. They were efficient and extremely professional. The house looks beautiful and we are thrilled and grateful to MVO painters."

Customers say: Quick response

"Ramon and his crew did a fantastic job staining my deck and whitewashing the interior of my gazebo. In addition he pointed out other areas of the exterior of my home that needed attention which he also took care of. I plan on having Ramon come back to do some interior painting this fall after he completes his exterior jobs."

"Five Star not only painted my interior walls and ceilings but also painted my exterior trim. They were very nice to work with and answered all of my questions. The crew that came to our house were very nice to talk to and they did a very good job of cleaning up afterwards. I would gladly hire them again for any other painting needs I may have in the future."

"Nick was flexible and reliable throughout our expansive and evolving home renovation project. We hired him initially to paint a few large interior rooms but soon expanded the scope of work based on his good work and highly competitive pricing. In addition to interior walls and ceilings he finished our concrete basement floor with a highly durable epoxy-like coating, which are very pleased with. We will undoubtedly keep Nick on our short list of contractors for future projects."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

To remove paint from brick with vinegar, you can use the vinegar in much the same way you would paint stripper. However, vinegar needs significantly more time to soak into the paint. Apply the vinegar with a spray bottle, let it soak in, then scrub the paint's surface.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

The most common reason paint peels is because moisture gets trapped underneath it and disrupts its bond with the wall. Other causes for peeling paint include a poor original paint job, painting over a surface with dirt or other foreign material on it, or applying paint coats that are too thick.

A traditional German schmear uses mortar, making it unsuitable for adherence to painted surfaces. Professionals recommend removing any existing paint before applying mortar. However, you can rough up the painted surface and clean it to test if the mortar will stick. Remember that the underlying paint's texture and color may affect the schmear's final appearance—so starting with a bare brick wall will ensure the ideal finish.
