"The deal on Angie's list stated that wires would be "dressed." To me this means that the wires would be covered. There were wires sticking out all over and was extremely unsightly. I had to pay an additional fee to "dress the wires." When that was completed, it looked much much better. Unfortunately, the pictures below show how it looks now. Some wires are still exposed and the paint was chipped."

"Rich showed up early and was very respectful of our wishes in terms of removing his shoes or putting on shoe covers.   He was very careful moving his equipment so as to not damage the walls or the stairs.  He covered everything that could be exposed while working.  He worked quickly and thoroughly.  He answered all my questions and even ran the negative ion machine in my son's room.  We would definitely hire them again (and we have!)"

"There were many things wrong in my computer (my fault and letting grandchildren on computer) Robert was so helpful, gave me many good instructions to keep everything safe, which I have written down, feel like I have a new computer. He was so excellent and experienced, took his time and was meticulous about what needed to be done. He was a pleasure to work with and I will use this company again! Linda Disy"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Spooner, electrical work can impact interconnected systems like HVAC, well pumps, or sump pumps, especially in homes with older wiring or during the winter. If you notice appliances running slower, lights dimming when the furnace or well pump starts, or your security system acting up after electrical changes, it’s wise to consult a local expert to ensure all systems remain safe and reliable.

Helpful?

Spooner’s long winters, heavy snow, and summer storms mean electrical projects must withstand moisture, freezing, and power surges. Outdoor wiring should be protected from snow loads and ice, while surge protection is crucial due to frequent lightning. Schedule exterior work between late spring and early fall for best results, and always consider extra insulation or heating needs when planning indoor electrical upgrades.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Spooner, choose wire rated for cold and damp conditions, such as THWN-2 for underground or wet areas, and use PVC conduit to protect against freeze-thaw cycles. Indoors, rust-resistant panel boxes and EMT conduit are ideal. Outdoor outlets should be weatherproof and rated for harsh winters. Always select materials that meet WI electrical code and provide GFCI or AFCI protection where needed.

Helpful?

Upgrading electrical systems in Spooner can make your home more attractive to buyers, especially those seeking safety and modern features. Improvements like updated panels, GFCI/AFCI protection, surge protection, and backup generator connections are highly valued for rural or lakefront homes. These upgrades offer peace of mind and can help your property stand out in the competitive WI real estate market.

Helpful?

In Spooner, watch for signs like rust or moisture on electrical panels—often due to lake humidity or condensation in crawl spaces. If you have an older home, be alert for outdated wiring or frequent breaker trips when using heaters. Flickering lights, a persistent burning smell, or outlets that feel warm are all early warnings that a small issue could become a bigger problem if left unchecked.
