"We chose Roseville Fireside because they had completed several previous jobs for us. I was very fortunate to have worked with Jamie Shea. He exceeded my expectations for customer service. He assisted us with picking out the proper color and stone style to compliment our wood floors and mahogany woodwork. He made a site visit to take measurements and thoroughly walked us through the process. Jamie was always prompt, courteous and very thorough. The mason crew of Randy and Andy were prompt, courteous and cleaned up the project area. I would highly recommend Fireside for updating a fireplace. If you are so fortunate to work with Jamie Shea on your project, you will be pleasantly surprised with his professionalism and can do attitude."

"The 2 workers were on time and performed the required work to install and remove the old water heater. They seemed in a big hurry ti finish and did not ( in my opinion) check the gas lines. 2 days after the installation there were 2 gas leaks and I had to call MGE to fix."

"To the best of our knowledge, other than hiring a contractor, there are two businesses in the Madison area that do gas fireplace design and installation.  Fireside is the factory outlet for "Heat 'n Glo" and  "Heatilator"  brands (both manufactured by the same company).  Rebecca, the sales representative at Fireside, provided a terrific and systematic overview of products to meet our needs, and answered all our numerous questions as we proceeded to make decisions.  In contrast, the "competition" never followed up after the home inspection suggested  conflicting information between what we had seen in the showroom and what we could use in the house.
We wanted a fireplace that provides ambiance more than heat output; and it can become confusing when faced with the choices of "an attractive flame pattern" and btu output.  We did not want to be forced out of our living room because the temperature became oppressive.  To her credit, Rebecca never tried to sell us more fireplace than we would want or need.
Fireside was able to provide a firm estimate that locked in the cost without the concern that hidden extras or unexpected problems might arise.  Apparently this is not the way the "competitor" routinely does business since we could, at best, get an estimate to provide the essential gas line and electrical work.  We did comparative shopping for tile and stone and found Fireside was more than competitive on the pricing and was better able to coordinate the installation around the placement of the fireplace.  Rebecca was able to work with us to provide some extraordinary seasonal promotions to reduce our overall cost.
Vern came out to supervise the fireplace installation and sweated and fretted all the details.  He was concerned that despite a pre-sale evaluation, our mantel was not at a sufficient recommended distance from the heat source.  He returned after brainstorming the issue over the weekend to make the 1/2 inch modification.  We felt very confident in his expertise, and professionalism,   He's a very personable man and we enjoyed the time he spent with us.
Tile and stone installation presented some unexpected challenges: Some of the tile shattered, and some piece of the stone chipped; but the installer and Fireside worked together to solve all issues as well as our esthetic preferences.  All of the people we met were friendly, helpful, meticulous, and neat.
We have a beautiful new gas fireplace that should make it far more convenient and practicable for us to use our living room on chilly days.  The fireplace has been tested and other than the "break-in" burn is ready to go.  We have no way yet to evaluate the heat output (hopefully too little rather than too much) but look forward to the Fall.

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Yes, professional services typically include venting, gas line installation, and necessary permits.

Most likely, a gas plumber would be the best pro for many components in your home, and you might not even realize it. Natural gas plumbers are responsible for maintaining and installing natural gas lines, including installing appliances that use natural gas. These can include:

  • Fireplaces

  • Water heaters

  • Furnaces

  • Hot tubs

  • Clothes dryers

  • Ovens

  • Outdoor grills

Gas plumbers are also the pros that would handle a natural gas leak in your home, so it's essential to know the signs of a gas leak before it becomes a dangerous situation.

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

You can maneuver your gas grill into place, but you cannot connect the grill to your gas source yourself. All municipalities mandate that a certified plumber carry out this work, so you’ll have to reach out to a plumber or a gas grill installation company in your area. Given how dangerous a gas leak can be, gas lines and connections are highly regulated, so you’ll need a professional’s help and a permit to install a gas grill.

The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.
