Radon is a silent killer. It's a colorless, odorless radioactive gas which naturally occurs in the ground below us, and gets pulled into our homes, schools and businesses. Why should you worry about something you can't see or smell? Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, with the US Surgeon General and the EPA estimating 20,000 Americans die every year due to radon exposure. Lifetime Radon Solutions is proud to be a locally owned and operated business that has been in operation since 1993! With years of experience and unmatched expertise we can help with any and all of your Radon testing and abatement needs. Get in touch today!

"They were prompt, polite and did quality work."

We are a home inspection, radon testing and thermal imaging company servicing southeastern WI called Inspect The Best WI (Lic # 3324-106). Our goal is to help you prepare your home for sale or to assist you in making the decision to purchase a house. We offer InterNACHI's Buy Back program. Instead of a few dollars of warranty coverage, if I miss anything during your inspection, InterNACHI will buy the entire house back from you for the price you paid for it! That's a tough warranty to beat. Check out my website at www.inspectthebestwi.com for more details. Also, as part of our home inspection process and no cost to our clients, we inventory the home's appliances and run them through a recall check system to see if any recall have been issued for those appliances. If there has been a recall notice on any of those appliances you will be contacted to set up an appointment to have those items fixed. The appliances will then be registered so in the event a recall should happen while you own the appliance, you would be notified. To set us apart we use a FLIR thermal imaging camera to pinpoint problem areas before they are visible and more costly to repair. Let us use our training, building science knowledge and FLIR IR camera to help evaluate and look for issues.

"Paul was thorough and professional. He communicated well during the entire process. The report was very detailed. He was very responsive to all of the questions I had for him before, during, and after the inspection. We will use him again."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Sampling typically takes 1-3 hours, and depending on the provider, lab results are available within 2-7 days.

Costs depend on property size, test types, and additional services like mold sampling.

Installing a mitigation system reduces radon levels, which can cause lung cancer, providing peace of mind and long-term health benefits. It can also increase your home’s value, as many buyers prefer properties with radon safety measures in place. The investment is relatively low compared to the potential health risks associated with prolonged radon exposure.

No level of radon is technically safe, but because it’s everywhere—even in the air outside—it’s impossible to avoid entirely. Instead, the Environmental Protection Agency encourages taking preventative measures if the levels of radon in your home rise above 2 pCi/L. (For reference, the average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 pCi/L.

Radon enters your home when warm air begins to rise and exits through the roof, creating a vacuum that pulls cooler air from under the foundation. Part of that air is radon, which is an invisible, odorless gas that develops naturally when radioactive particles are deep within the ground. Those particles usually come from decaying matter in soil and rocks.
