"We had an internal house line leading to the sewer plugged on a Sunday. We couldn't run any water in the house without it coming out of the drain and into the basement. Based on all the positive reviews I read of KJM plumbing, I called Kurt and he was here within 20 minutes with his machine and cleared the clog, which took about an hour. Pleasant, polite man. The price was reasonable for a weekend emergency call. If I need a plumber again, he'll be the first one I'll call."

"Brad was very easy to work with. His prices are very competitive and his customer service is excellent. Even though I contacted him late in the season, he was able to get the job completed. He and his crew completed the connection of the sump pump discharge to a newly installed municipal collector line. When the job was completed, the excavation was unnoticeable. I would recommend him to others needing landscaping or general yard work."

"We were satisfied with the outcome of our retaining wall project. It took a little longer than we initially anticipated, but in the end, the final quality of the work was worth it. They installed two block walls, replaced and updated our downspout drainage system, and fixed the fence gate that sits behind one of the walls. They were friendly throughout."

"Absolutely phenomenal workmanship, and at a great price. Bob came out incredibly quickly after I contacted Greenscapes, walked around the property with me, listened to all the issues I knew about, pointed out ones I didn't know about, patiently explained and suggested a variety of options, and promptly got me a quote. The workmen arrived with Bob to review all the work the day of and introduce themselves. The workmen were very courteous and did a phenomenal job. Greenscapes' quote came in 1/2 to 1/3 of the three other landscaping contractors I had spoken to, and they still got everything I wanted done, and more. They installed dirt, stone, fabric, and plastic edging to fix the water routing issues all over my property. They dug up the collapsing retaining wall, shored it up, installed rocks and edging to route water away, and installed easy to maintenance downspouts away from the building at a proper grade. The other condo unit owners and I couldn't be happier. They did a phenomenal job at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Greenscapes to anyone getting any landscaping done. GREAT JOB."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Liquid drain cleaners are harsh chemicals that can erode your pipes. To treat a slow drain or for preventative maintenance, pour hot water down the drain to break up gunk and help move it along. Make sure the water isn’t boiling hot (keep it under 140 degrees Fahrenheit) if you have plastic pipes. However, you’ll need to pull the clog out for bigger backups.

It is safe to flush small amounts of bleach down the toilet. Don’t flush more than ¼ cup of bleach. Instead, consider diluting it and pouring it down the sink drain.

Yes, you can use hydrogen peroxide to unclog a drain. Instead of using a baking soda and vinegar solution, you can use baking soda with hydrogen peroxide. The process to unclog a drain is the same as with vinegar, but use 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide instead.

A saturated leach field can result from various underlying issues, so it's best to call a professional septic company to diagnose and treat the problem. Depending on the cause of the saturation, potential fixes include pumping out a full septic tank, adding more bacteria to the tank, or regrading the soil to fix low spots. It may also be necessary to reroute rainwater and runoff away from the leach field using gutters, downspouts, and extenders. Once the primary issue is resolved, planting specific types of vegetation over the area can help absorb excess water. In more severe cases, you might need to install a larger septic tank or replace the leach field entirely.

Clean regularly with non-abrasive cleaners, avoid pouring grease down the drain, and check for leaks under the sink.
