"Gave an estimate on a Saturday and they were here the following Thursday. Professional service and excellent communication. Did a great job on the trees we wanted down and the trees we wanted trimmed. Cleanup was very thorough. Highly recommend!"

"Due to weather Gabe's Tree Service will begin the work in late March. They have to wait until the snow melts, but I have been very satisfied with the initial contact and showing up here to assess the project. I have since recommended his snowplowing service also to others in addition to his tree work"

"Tree fell on my garage and house. Called Tree-B-Gone and tree was indeed gone the same afternoon. Jason was very knowledgeable and explained procedures clearly, putting my mind at ease through the whole process. The entire crew worked diligently and with care about the quality of their work. "Bigfoot Stump Grinding did a fantastic job for me. I had several tree stumps as well as several very large bushes that needed to be removed. He worked diligently on each project, did a great job cleaning up and charged a reasonable fee. Would certainly hire him again should I need his services."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Depending on the severity of the damage, a tree might continue healing for years after a split or a break. Saplings can usually bounce back in the spring in one or two seasons, but larger trees might take a few years to regain their former strength. If your tree is showing strong growth and is not dropping limbs, you can consider it healed after the first two seasons.

You should prune ornamental trees once every other year after the fruit has matured and begun to drop. You should also prune out dead branches whenever you see them. Pruning too often can stimulate more growth, especially in faster growing varieties like Bradford pears.

Stay inside or well away until the storm passes. Don’t go outside to inspect the tree until the weather clears, especially if the tree is on a hill or isolated in a field. Lightning often strikes the same easily-accessed places multiple times, and you could be a new target. If a lightning strike causes a noticeable fire, alert emergency services. When the storm is over, take a closer look to gauge the damage done.

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.
