"Had these guys change out my bath fan and replace all my outlets that cords wouldn't stay plugged in. Only took them a couple hours to do everything and they seemed like pretty good dudes. Would hire them again"

"Aaron is skilled, reliable and honest. He repaired the sagging soffits around my large ranch style home to get me ready for winter. He has wonderful attention to detail. Repaired everything he came across with the best hardware. Also, he is a very nice guy. I will be using him for all my future projects and recommending him to all my friends!"

"Randy and Jake were the best! They agreed to install this fence in the winter when everyone else we contacted wouldn't. They were simply amazing. No matter what needed to be done, no matter what tool was needed, Randy and Jake did it. I remember seeing them using the pickaxe to ensure the ground was level for each panel. We have a couple of Beagle puppies who are escape artists, but Randy and Jake made sure that every fence panel was too close to the ground for them to escape. Randy was perfect to work with. He explained the details of his plan and what it would cost. He didn't hide anything from us. Our install was extra complicated due to a sloping yard, but Randy knew how to account for that. Our neighbors were so impressed with their work, that they contacted Randy to install a fence for them, too! I have owned three houses and have contracted many projects out. I can say without reservation that Eau Claire Fence Company was the best we've ever hired to perform a service. If you need a fence installed, this is THE company to hire."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The depth of the fence posts depends on the height of your fence. If you’re installing a 6-foot fence, then digging 2-foot-deep holes for the fence posts will help ensure a secure installation. However, if you’re installing an 8-foot fence, the posts will need to be deeper than 2 feet to support the structure properly. Also, consider how far apart the fence posts should be to provide adequate support.

While power washing isn't a requirement before you stain a fence, it can make the job much easier and faster while reducing manual labor requirements. The stain will not work if the wood is full of dirt and dust, so power washing, sometimes called pressure washing, is a fast and effective way to prepare the wood for staining. Remember that you need to stain or repaint relatively soon after the wood has dried so that there isn’t time for dust and dirt to build up again.

Wattle fences are typically around 4 feet tall, but they can be built taller or shorter depending on their intended use. Taller fences may require additional reinforcements, such as thicker posts or tighter weaving, to ensure the fence’s stability and durability against wind and other elements.

In most cases, wrought iron fencing will cause your property value to increase. Most types of fence—but especially high-quality wrought iron fences—make your home more secure and deter burglars, which adds to property value. Fences can also help keep children and pets safe, which most homebuyers will appreciate. Wrought iron fences are also highly decorative, and while they don’t provide much privacy, they do add to your home’s curb appeal, which often leads to higher home value.

Most privacy fences are easy to install if you’re going with a DIY-friendly option like a wood fence, vinyl fence, or pallet fence. Since pallet fences come in the form of pre-constructed fence panels, they’re often considered the easiest privacy fence to install. Just get your fence stakes in the ground and slide the pallets onto them before securing them with scrapboard.
