The remodeling project manager hadn't scheduled the painting, hadn't updated Doug on what was being painted, hadn't told Doug that one wall would be done in semi-gloss and hadn't insured that the site was ready for painting; Doug's pro-active approach caught the problems and kept the project on schedule.
