"We had the BEST experience with Night Owl Landscape Lighting for our outdoor lighting design and installation. Woody, the owner of the company, takes great care and attention to detail with his design. We felt like he made decisions on our project like it was his own home he was working on. We were so impressed with our scheduled viewing meeting the first night of the light installation. We were able to walk around at night and view the great results. If any adjustments needed to be made, they could have been made on the spot at that time. However, we did not need any alterations, it looked great. The first night of our new lights we actually had a couple neighbors ask us the name of the company that installed our new beautiful lights. 10/10 experience, quality, professionalism and satisfaction. Highest recommendation for anyone interested."

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. Once somebody actually did speak with me, they were very responsive. They were pretty professional when I spoke to them. I just think that they were light on manpower."

"My lights started flickering throughout my house and my refrigerator wasn't keeping as cool as it should.  I could hear "crunchy" sounds coming from my electrical panel so something was definitely wrong.  I called "Sparky" and he was over in 2 hours on a Monday.  He diagnosed a loose terminal screw (because there were sparks coming from it) and had everything fixed in less then 5 minutes.  He only charged $29 for the service call and was very friendly."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.

The cost to repair a short circuit depends on the type of repair. A faulty outlet or simple loose wire can be a simple fix that might only cost a handful of dollars. For example, if you need to rewire a house, you’ll spend around $2 to $4 per square foot, but replacing an entire electrical panel costs anywhere from $500 to $2,100.

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

While most general electricians can repair lamps and light fixtures, it is often better to hire a lamp repair specialist. Many electricians prefer larger jobs, such as fixing electrical systems or relocating fixtures, and may not offer lamp repair services due to the small scale of the work. Additionally, some lamps, particularly antique models, require dedicated expertise that a general electrician might not have. A lamp repair specialist will be familiar with various types of fixtures and can provide a more dedicated service. If you have already hired an electrician for a larger project, you can ask them to look at your lamp, but for a standalone repair, a specialist is typically the best option.

Professional repairs involve diagnosing issues, replacing components, rewiring, or repositioning fixtures to restore optimal performance.
