"T&K Builders LLC, Terry and his Team were the ultimate professional. What was promised was delivered and more. Terry and his Team explained all the steps being performed. There was no surprise when it came to the invoice. I would hire T&K Builders LLC, Terry and his Team again and again for any of my home improvement projects - large or small."

"We couldn't be happier with the work that Construct Boss did for us. We had an idea of what we wanted, and with the suggestions they gave, or basement turned out better than we hoped for. The entire basement was done on time and on budget."

"This was a great experience. Evan is a good communicator. We had all the bumps worked out before the project began. He came when he said he would, finished when he said he would and left the place clean- really, really clean. The work he did was perfection. We couldn't be happier. I think he increased the value of our home by thousands. I would never hire anyone else again."

"The work went very well, my wife and I were pleased with the prompt professional service. The price was affordable and the work was great, once finished he cleaned after himself and made sure we were satisfied. I would definitely refer this company to anyone I know who needs any home repair work. Chris met our expectations and beyond with the affordable price and high quality service along with a time frame."

"Chris Huber supervised the crew that build a sunroom on the back of our townhouse. We had a very good experience working with him and he was an excellent communicator. He wanted us to be completely happy with the addition to our home, and we definitely were. ."

"We were very happy with the service. We contacted the landscaper (Jairo) and he came out rather quickly and provided a bid immediately. He was very responsive to text messages with scheduling the work and if we had any questions, he was happy to explain everything in detail to my satisfaction. We felt so confident in his work that we added more work such as pressure cleaning, adding a sealer to the patio, etc. We love our backyard yard again!! Thanks again!!"

"Bob and his team did a phenomenal job working with us on a custom build. He made great recommendations while still remaining incredibly open to some building techniques and products we were hoping to use for a very specific end result. Bob is incredibly responsive (we started our Wisconsin build while living in Philadelphia and he never missed a beat. He continues to stay in touch as well as connect us to professionals or help us with jobs as we grow into our beautiful home."

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

It pays to hire a project manager or general contractor when you have a large-scale project that will take over a week to complete, especially when it involves structural changes and multiple subcontractors. This includes hiring a general contractor to build a house, add an extension, or manage other projects that need a building permit.

Building a house without blueprints is not advised. It will prevent you from obtaining necessary building permits and meeting building codes and is likely to result in shoddy construction and unsafe living conditions. Detailed blueprints ensure that a house is built to exact specifications and is constructed safely and structurally stable.

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.

Modular homes can go up or down in value depending on a few factors. In areas where real estate is appreciating, the value of modular homes is likely to increase, and vice versa. Additionally, the value of modular homes depends partially on the area. In cities where every other home is stick-built, modular homes might be considered a functional obsolescence, in which case they could be less desirable and go down in value. In either case, though, modular homes can still be a good investment, especially since they provide housing at a lower upfront cost.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.
