Formica can't handle high heat, so never place anything fresh from the oven or off the stovetop on a laminate surface because it will scorch.

For best results, find a product that specifically states that it can be used to secure laminate countertops, such as 3M High-Strength Spray Adhesive, Weldwood Contact Cement, Gorilla Max Strength Clear Construction Adhesive, or 3M Fastbond. Before gluing, sand the area you plan to glue to remove any large debris and to rough it up for better adhesion.
