We were selling a farm house property and at the last minute the buyer's mortgage company required that a large dilapidated barn be removed before the sale could close. Because of our short timeline and the location's rural location, we had a hard time finding an contractor. TILT offered a bid at a reasonable price and did the job exceedingly well. There was a hiccup due to contradictory instructions given by some family members, but we cleared it up and TILT responded well. Overall, they were very responsive to phone calls and requests. Although many tree roots will continue to grow after the tree has been cut, there are a handful of exceptions to this rule. While species like elms, ficus, and willows have roots that will regrow with a vengeance, pine, oak, and maple roots will die when they’re cut down. New sprouts on old trunks, stumps, or exposed roots are a sign that the root system is still hard at work.

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size. 

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.

If you’re looking to rot a tree stump fast, potassium nitrate will work far quicker than copper nails. First, drill several holes into the stump using a power drill, then pour potassium nitrate pellets into the holes. Next, add water to help the chemical absorb into the wood, thoroughly soaking the stump to ensure the pellets dissolve and spread evenly. Afterward, cover the stump with a tarp to retain moisture and block sunlight, then place mulch on top to secure it in place.

Trees naturally want to grow upward, so one may straighten all by itself, though this only comes into play when a tree is leaning just a small amount. For trees growing into an awkward position or those leaning heavily in one direction, the above steps are necessary to ensure the tree gets back on the right path. This also holds true for trees planted in a spot with unstable soil.

Trimming your palm trees once or twice per year keeps them healthy and robust. Caring for palm trees includes cutting off brown leaves to prevent wildfires and pathway obstruction. However, you don’t want to over-trim the palm tree. Cutting too many branches off will weaken the tree and prevent future growth. And it’s essential to have a strong, healthy palm tree during hurricane season to prevent safety risks or property damage.
